Perhaps I'm being dense but how does that help test?

I assume its a 1080p video engineered to show artifacts or bands or some sort of specific distortion that is only shown when video is upscaled, and not when its played at 1080 natively ?

1080p - many very fine strips.
Upscaling - The strips thicker and less.

a few months ago geniatech announced the release of ATV1800, i think it was in may, it was going to use the new AMlogic 4 core with gpu Mali T604 or T624 cant remember now, at least, thats what they said, it was on pre sale on aliexpress for like 10 days $199 usd, but its not available anymore... they are going to start selling it next month.

I'd make a similar assumption but without any kind of specified criteria it isn't much of a test. My TV upscales 480p such that even it looks pretty good at 55".

From Thursday, would anyone who has signed up for BT Sport let us know if the Android app works on their box please?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - maronn - 2013-07-31

Hi guys I'm having problem with my box, it has problems with playing AVI files both in XBMC and stock player (+ mx player) I think my box may be faulty, could someone test one of the files if it plays OK on your box?
Please PM me for the link

Thanks in advance

Nobody wants to help me ;(

Hi Guys,
i'm having issues with my atv1200 and got the XAF built on it. most times when streaming a video it suddenly stops and restarts from the beginning. my external player is set to MX player. i tried searching the forum but can't find anyone having similar issue. can you please advise what is the best firmware to use and which XBMC when streaming 720p videos?

thanks!

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - thebearnecessit - 2013-07-31

the pivos xbmc app seems to be the best.

there's a thread in their forum called "user built nightlies" http://www.pivosforums.com/viewforum.php?f=11&sid=4d18f6b8cf1b3827f11c703b955c62e4

dont be put off by the thread title...they are all posted by a pivos emplyee and he is posting their latest work. the most recent one is from mid june i think.
