ATV2 - Airport Extreme - USB share ? HOW ? - schioler - 2013-01-30 Hey guys ... A newbie question i suppose.. I once had it working but now i cannot remember how the hell i managed to get it to work.. the setup is ATV2, Airport Exteme and a USB HD attached to the AE .. question is.. · what filesystem should i format my new USB disc with, MAC, FAt or?? · On the AE - should i share the disc with an account, disc password or unit password? · in XMBC - how do i add this new network source - Zeroconfig, or manuel (ip, password etc..) I have looked in different forums but could not find a good guide for this .. thanks in advance.. RE: ATV2 - Airport Extreme - USB share ? HOW ? - Ned Scott - 2013-01-30 1. IIRC, APE can read most major formats such as Mac's HFS+ and Windows's NTFS. I would go with Mac/HFS 2. That's up to you. I think it's just saying what password you want to use. 3. Add video -> Browse -> Scroll down and select "Add location" -> select SMB or AFP (should work with either) for the protocol -> Put in the IP address of the APE -> Fill out password if you set one -> click okay -> select the new location you made and press okay again -> Okay again to add it as a source. Oh, and username I think is the name of the APE. |
