I am not sure but I believe some skins already do this.

Don't think so. There are skins which indicate that there are internal subtitles but it doesn't work for external subtitles.
There were already discussions of adding external subtitles to the streaminfo of a video file (I think). That would be the best way to handle that imo. pieh gave an example how those audio- and subtitle streams could be displayed then without the need of my videolanguage script. Hopefully we will see that in Gotham.
