RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - mo123 - 2013-06-06

Tests with youtube plugin(4.4.4) & logs
MK808B 4.1.1

Youtube & addons working fine
Gotham Alpha 1 hw 19/2
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=25281

Youtube & addons not working - "Remote share - Cannot connect to remote server"
Gotham Alpha 2 hw 03/04
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=25282

The same happens with Gotham Alpha4 hw & the snapshot builds of Gotham Alpha.
If this is the wrong thread I will post it elsewere too.
Thanks Smile

I have the same results! But I tried the last "official"snapshot (without libstagefright) and I have the same problem, so it must be something in the main line and not in this libstagefright build...

where can i download the alpha 4.
I have know the build with a hardware acceleration switch for libstagefright, that works for me fine on my minix neo x5

I still get a split second of audio when a video is paused

I've turned on the debug log, and it says "LOG: special://home/xbmc.log". I can't find any "xbmc.log" file anywhere on my storage, there is no "cache" folder as specified in the XBMC wiki page, and every time I run the "XBMC Log Uploader" program nothing happens, it just makes the click sound and nothing happens... How do you fix this? A bit hard to help resolve issues if debug logs don't even work.

Alpha4 doesn't work well on non-android setups as well

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - tennisbgc - 2013-06-08

How do I make the on screen keyboard usable with the d-pad on the ouya? I cant seem to find the option anymore

Update: I just checked and this version is missing the option to "remote control sends keyboard presses"

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - Lipstickjuggler - 2013-06-08

Alpha4 is working great on my Ouya.

Only problem so far: When setting audio output to "HDMI" (to passthrough AC3 and DTS to my AV-receiver), I only get static noise at first. I always need to shut off my AV-receiver and turn it on again while the movie is already playing to get the proper sound (and not only static noise). When doing so (shutting off and powering on the AV-receiver) audio passthrough works flawlessly.

But it's very annoying and inconvenient to nearly get a sudden hearing loss in case I forgot to follow this procedure.

Any solutions to this problem??

On my OUYA Alpha4 takes longer to skip (30 secs skip with the arrow keys) than Alpha1. Videos are played flawlessly, though, even 1080p of 10+ GB.

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - tennisbgc - 2013-06-08

I noticed using alpha 4 randomly my gateway router will loose internet connection and I have to unplug and plug the router back for it to work. I would send a log file but I cant get the onscreen keyboard to work to input my email.

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - bwong789 - 2013-06-09

Using xbmc-20130604-249ada1-Gotham_alpha4SF-armeabi-v7a.apk

Ouya: Android 4.1.2, Ethernet
Nexus 7, Android 4.2.2, 54 Mbit/s 802.11n

Tried installing the log uploader and looked in /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files. Could not find a log file although enabling logging did display the status in the upper left.

Ouya:
SD, MPEG2 runs smoothly with good audio via MythTV and matching add-on.
720p and 1080p drop frames. 1080p shown as a frame rate of about 20 fps and CPU-XMBC around 220%. The latter fluctuates quite a bit.

Nexus 7:
About the same but a little worse in terms of frame rate. Could be the WiFi router that is not the greatest. SD sometimes drops frames.

Definitely better than the stock version but not quite there yet.

Similar results when using an SMB share but cannot stream VOB files, just MPEG and MP4 so far.

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - Javlin - 2013-06-09

With the latest Build Alpha 4 on my OUYA

Streaming files perfect from my Nas on SMB file sharing 1080P 10gb+ mkv.

I think a few people having problems with smooth playback could be a router/network issue.

Only problem is skipping forward does nothing. Known issue Im presuming.

Other than that just a few random crashes, and poor keymapping on OUYA controller, yet to test a xbox360 controller that's an idea Smile

But overall for a device not released official yet, very happy.

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - bibi - 2013-06-09

hi,
i use the alpha 4 on ouya and get an issue with livetv hd channel (no deinterlacing apparently) but cant find the log... i tried with the plugin, with manuel procedure in xbmc directory in data, but cant find it ... the log option in the setting is activate.
