RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - hstegeman - 2013-06-22

Most of the users are having troubles with alpha 4, remote server errors etc. I am still making use of alpha 1. To get more response it seams to be clear for me. We need an update that can be tested. I would like to see a frodo libstagefright for android. Why only gotham?

Because Gotham is the current primary development version I would assume, with support for newer features.

because between the two releases there's enought changes that they are basically completely different programs and the guys that are working on libstagefrithgt got time only to mantain one.
but dont worry, everything is open source so if you want to work on a frodo libstagefright version you can just get the sources and start working on it.

Mr zero nix null, thanks for your response. Thank you for you help as always.

It is not a strange idea to have a libstagefright version of frodo. Frodo is the first version for android. There is no eden version of xbmc. Till now there is no official version of xbmc with hardware support. I would like to see table version of xbmc Frodo hardware supported. The current version of libstagefright has been stable since februari 2013, so i do not see any problem.

Koying I hope you can help out with this http://forums.ouya.tv/discussion/comment/13317/#Comment_13317

That's... kind of this whole thread. I don't know why OUYA is forking anything, because flawless operation in OUYA will be a part of the normal XBMC for Android build. Koying and other devs have been working on this and will continue to do so.

I would love to see a hardware supported Frodo version for the minix neo x5. I can't wait.

Sweefty, Stevens,

I got the exact same bug, but cant provide a log...
I provided a sample of the channel which cause the bug, could you see if you can repeat this strange effect and maybe provide a log ?
See post n°739

I second that, I don't need frodo, but it would be nice if Koying would update the build to the newest one (from 19.06) as there are no problems with plugins.
Problem is he disappeared and whole development is stopped because of that..

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - umOuch - 2013-06-23

Kk... Let's make sure we don't anger the dev with a sense of "you owe us"

He isn't gone forever Wink Life happens and devs disappear from time to time. Him not posting does NOT equal NO PROGRESS. For all we know he is doing great things right now Wink

Just me 2 cents... Happy, respected, devs are much more productive than annoyed, frustrated, devs Big Grin

reading this thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=167169 it sounds like he's traveling at the moment. Guess its just a one man show for this.

RE: libstagefright - Experimental hardware video decoding builds - Drakkim - 2013-06-23

Wasn't there a post a while back in this thread saying there was a change in the build process that made it difficult to compile the older versions again the newer libatagefright? If so, I doubt we will be seeing updates from the Frodo line here anymore. The old ones are still available, with the links a few pages back.
