Do me a favor, use the latest nightly... Delete, setting.xml, cache folder.
Enter settings click force reset, set xmltv path. Enable tvdb, tmdb, and sick-beard if you have it.
Leave EPG color disabled...

Does it blackscreen? send a log for that instance.

Thanks

Not sure if I should be insulted!!
No one asked you to download and use the master! Master clearly warns it could be unstable, and considering the only problem you supplied a log too points to user error... what "BUGS" are you finding?

(2013-12-08, 00:15)blazin912 Wrote: I'm trying on a laptop before I integrate and the latest EPGWindow.py change makes PTVL error on launch.

This is because you are not following the directions for using master!
You need to delete the plugin folder, then move new one over (copying won't work)...You also need to delete your cache folder and reenter settings looking for new switches...

I'll give this a go and let you know, FWIW I have done that, deleted the Addon's directory and cache folder in the userdata section and I've still had issues.

Issue synopsis:

1. A fully working xmltv.xml with version 0.1.0 no longer worked and needed to be resaved to allow the EPG to come up.
2. Even though the instructions said #_3 for Channel type = 8 could be "" to get a default of xmltv, I needed to actually enter "xmltv" before it would parse my live channels and not crash.
3. Yesterday when I pulled down the master, and did the delete and replace, I got a PseudoTV.py error which linked all they way down to an indentation error in EPGWindow.py, diffed with a previous version (0.1.9 but.. 16 hours older) allowed PTVL to load but couldn't actually load channels, so some other script must have changed causing some issue.
4. EPG on my 0.1.9 but 16 hours older was not in sync, I reloaded PTVL 4 times in a row and it came up the same EVERYTIME
5. EPG did not allow me to select and jump to channel type 8. IF you select it, the EPG closes and you stay on the channel you're viewing. If you do the same with a Directory channel or playlist channel, works just fine.
6. I'll put this here even though I'm not 100% on this. I tried making a Channel type 9. Through some combination of 0.1.9 files, I had it working on a new install. It would no longer work with the "latest" master yesterday.

Again, no disrespect just trying to state what I've seen, and since this is the only means for watching programming (for my wife) it needs to be rock solid and perform as it has been (0.1.0) or better to allow me to keep it around.

I've got some time this AM, maybe I can debug more of this.

I'll keep you posted and if I can isolate bugs I'll send logs of each.

Feature Request:

Revision bumps. My issue synopsis is vague on version because there is no way for me to distinguish between various combinations of files pulled down from the repo. I can of course diff, but at the end of the date my report would need to be timestamped in order for you to understand what version of a file i'm utilizing. Rev bumping wants it's put in the repo would stream line this process a bit.

(2013-12-08, 05:18)ARYEZ Wrote: I just downloaded the latest master...did a clean install, but nothing seems to be really working correctly for me. In fact I found three new bugs...

1. There seems to be two stages of "Focused" now--by which I mean if I scroll through the EPG and go from channel one to channel two for instance, when I scroll down the program on Channel two isn't actually "focused" even though i am currently hovering on it...To actually make it "focused" I have to hit to the left or right. This is definitely a new bug that was introduced in the previous version, but still is present in tonight's update. It makes navigating the EPG extremely tedious so hopefully it can be fixed.

2. in the pic below, look at the lowest channel in the EPG (channel 4 Tekzilla) and notice the program playing in the 830pm timeslot. You can clearly see the name in white (as it should be) but there is a new bug in this version where the name appears underneath it when you hover over it. The grey version of the name scrolls as well.

3. Is Dynamic art supposed to be working for Library content? Notice the fanart displayed is still for Ancient Aliens, as opposed to Six Feet Under (which I am hovering over.)

I probably should mention that the new TVDB changes just cause a black screen failure for me, the version this replaced worked flawlessly though. I can upload a log in a bit if you want to see one.

Did u rebuild your channels?

Small skinning issues are from my changes, there not bugs... just didn't clean skin coding yet...

But your first issue, can you explain further, not following the problem.

Yep I actually did a clean auto tune...then followed it up with a few random genre channels--got the same results both times.

As far as my first problem, I'll demonstrate what I mean with my new skin (the problem occured in the default skin as well but it just is easier to see since the difference in mine is black and white text.

Ok so lets say I'm scrolling through the EPG and decide to watch Hunger Games...I scroll down from the Nitro channel to the Atlas channel beneath it. Im now currently hovering on the Hunger Games as seen in this pic--but as you notice the text is still white...that means as far as the EPG code is concerned I am not actually "focused" on the Hunger Games.
Image

Now in this next pic, I have pressed to the right (as if I was going to watch Indy instead) and now the Text is Black, like it is supposed to be. Only now does the EPG code consider me actually "focused" on the Hunger Games.
Image

I checked on my main HTPC that is still running the previous version of PTVL and this problem exists on that build as well. Perhaps this is tied to the same code that is causing the White on top of Grey text issue?

Either way aside from not looking right this actually makes navigating the EPG significantly more tedious. For instance if i really did want to watch Indy instead I would have to hit to the right twice to get there...I know this might not seem like much of an issue but imagine a movie trailer channel that has 20 trailers on the screen and you have to hit to the right 40 times to get to the one you want.

Bug confirmed as well, current time slot focus is not working. Need to arrow to the right to select current time slot.

Hooray.. couldn't figure out how to change this so it's generated properly (Luna that's on you) but was able to figure out the issue:

Old build setting id="xmltv" for the xmltv location

New build calls out xmltvLOC, unfortunately the settings.xml getting generated has id="xmltv" still, changing this to "xmltvLOC" allows live tv to function.

I tried modding the Settings.xml in the addon dir and in the resources directory but a fresh settings.xml keeps getting generated with xmltv rather than xmltvLOC.

ALL:

Go to your directory where Settings2.xml is located
Open Settings.xml
Find:

<setting id="xmltv" value="C:\" />

Change to:

<setting id="xmltvLOC" value="C:\" />

Save
Parse LiveTV again and smile.

@ anyone having problem, follow the proper instructions for updating to master git (located right under the download link)... it's not there as a suggestion! you need to follow it...

As for me... I'm detecting just too much bullshit from a certain ungrateful user!! I suggest they stop posting, and go back into hibernation!

Did not have a tvdb api key after update this morning. Not sure if I did something wrong or if we are supposed to try to get our own. Thanks.
