is it me or is the new youtube parsing slow for anyone else?

It is slower, but I removed force reset... so its only slow on first run or after reset.

Extra parsing was needed to catch differences between links. YouTube uses a few different types of links (legacy issue).

You might have noticed a few errors in PTVL prompting URL not found... Extra parsing should fix this...

Because force reset is disabled you will have to set a reset rule to allow new content to be added.... Rule has to be manually added for now...

I will post example tomorrow.

RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - hellohello - 2013-08-14

@Lunatixz

I've been adding comments to the settings2.xml file to keep track of what channels are what in it (i.e. <!--Sports 900-920 -->, <!-- Music Videos 800-820 -->, etc) and I've noticed that when PTVL parses it, it wipes those comments out (obviously in an effort to "clean" it up). is it possible for such commented sections to be ignored and left untouched?

No, sorry settings2.xml isn't meant for manual entries... think of it as a ROM for PTVL..
it's stored in memory while PTVL is running, and dumped to disk when not...

We manually configure now, because we are testing... but once everything is stable... directly editing settings2 will be removed.

Hello, sorry if this is slightly offtopic but I'm fracking my brains trying to figure this out.

I wrote a plugin to play background music when XBMC is idle. It periodically checks to see if anything is playing, and if not, it goes ahead and plays music. Pretty simply stuff, but PseudoTV and PseudoTV Live hate it and I can't figure out how to get around this.

It seems that my script is unable to figure out if PseudoTV is active. As a result, it thinks nothing is playing and starts playing music which forces PsuedoTV to close.

The check I make is

PHP Code:
if xbmcgui.Window(10000).getProperty("PseudoTVRunning") == "True"

But when the script loops this somehow ends up not being True anymore and the script tries to play music again.

If you have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Had something weird happen last night. Was flipping through different channels in PTVL and it locked up and xbmc crashed. When I restarted XMBC I went back into PTVL and it said that there were no channels available. I exited XBMC again and took at look at the settings2.xml file and it was like 70bytes (filled with my existing channels it is 156KB). So I copied the backup copy of settings2.xml back to the directory and restarted XBMC and everything was fine. It rechecked the channels and everything works like normal again. I was really tired when this happened so I didn't get any log information. Just thought i'd share.

Also, I know you are going to be taking away the ability to manually add channels to the settings2.xml in the final release, is there any particular reason for that? Manually adding can be a pain, but there are a bunch of rtsp channels that I add and doing it manually in notepad++ would be far faster than doing it through the channel config gui. These channels are not from another XBMC addon so it wouldn't be able to grab from anywhere when using the config. Just curious.

only time I'm aware of this happening is if you force quit XBMC while PTVL is writing to the settings2.xml

i must 2nd the question henbone posed about removing settings2. typing in anything in xbmc is a pain, and the ui is a ripe pain. but i assume you have a great awesome reason...

Unfortunately settings2.xml is always stored in memory, so a crash could screw up the physical copy if it just so happened to be writing to it when the crash happens...

You're misunderstanding what I meant about removing manual settings...

Settings2.xml is just about the most important part of PTVL... so directly editing it could be problematic if an error in syntax is made...

You will still be able to manually edit, but not directly to settings2... I will have files like "livetv.xml" and internettv.xml" which can provided error checking before being written to settings2.xml

is anyone else having problems with youtube channels buffering till 100% then not playing?. it doesnt happen all the time and if i go into guide and pick the second video it loads instantly. then i can go in guide and pick 1st one and it loads instantly it only happens when trying to play the 1st video on the channel before you play another video.

a few times I noticed it started paused with a buffer @ %100, but it doesn't happen to me enough to consider it a problem... most of the time my youtube channels startup fine...

I responded to henbone... think there was miscommunication on my plans...

---UPDATED---8/17/13 1:30 pm eastern u.s time

i have been working on a new settings2 with plugin source,rrss feeds and strms.
you will need youtube,justintv,veetle plugins to use this and u need the latest build of ptvl. if you need any help or have anything you want to add pm me.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdkdqxnv8tzuntn/settings2PLUGIN.xml
i also updated my logo folder it has guide logo's for most of these streams.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/f2z8zwmng5gjw5k/iFfvKSOYFx
youtube channels get stuck sometimes best solution i have found is to open guide and select the second video it will play fine then you can select the 1st video if you want.

thank you's and credits
