Just dl'ed the latest dev copy from Git and the EPG literally flies now. I don't know what you changed but great work! Also once I reran the artwork downloaded addon all my artwork is fixed and displaying landscapes like it's supposed to. Like I said great work all around. On my machine the EPG is as fast as it was back in the pre-dynamic artwork days.

Luna, can i see in the log exactly what PTVL is doing?
i suspect that a few media files are the one who is screwing things up
maybe it doesnt like FLV files?

Wow, not sure how Luna got it so fast but you're right. When I updated PTVL a few days ago it was very slow with the Dynamic Artwork enabled, now it seems just as fast with it enabled than without it.

Wow, not sure how Luna got it so fast but you're right. When I updated PTVL a few days ago it was very slow with the Dynamic Artwork enabled, now it seems just as fast with it enabled than without it.

I had problems with artwork with the previous update. This, from what I can see, not only fixed everything , and turned it into turbo mode. Amazing job!
Also, if you are like me and use a custom skin, make sure to move your skin into the development folder, not the master folder.

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I haven't had any luck with it the last several updates. I've been trying to figure out the problem myself, but I just can't.
During the process of building the channels, it always just stops building at around the 8th or 9th channel. The window stays up, but it never finishes. Furthermore, if I click Cancel, it says Cancelling, but the window never goes away, leaving me to "killall -HUP xbmc.bin" over SSH, in order to get back. This happens whether I build the channels myself using the Channel Configurator, or I allow autotune to do it. It happens whether I use the master, or the git version, and whether the sources are over NFS or SMB. I have turned off dynamic artwork and only set the number per channel to 10.
I use it for just the bare minimum. Just 1 channel for each TV Genre, no internet streaming stuff or livetv of any kind.

I love how fast the EPG is now, its great!
I seem to be having an issue with dynamic artwork loading now though, mine doesn't load the artwork (It is enabled) Not sure on that.
Also, I usually use the PTVL skin as I created my own EPG channel banners that fit the EPG, but I just noticed that the PTVL EPG is a little off. It cuts off part of the Trending Now and the Now Playing text is cut off. Also the description runs vertical not horizontal across as well. (See Below for screenshots)

So I switched to the Aurora Skin, and I do like it, but my custom EPG Channel Banners are way too big, could I get the dimensions so I could scale them better?

Dang Luna, I'm loving the speed of the dev for the EPD! On my Raspberry Pi, it used to take about 5 seconds to go between channels on 0.4.6...on this current dev build, it BLAZES! Keep up the good work!

Lunatixz - I have to say that I admire your work with this plugin.
I was using 2 years ago TV Time, then when PseudoTV came out, all the best options were cut out and neglected,
and now - you did your magic and PTVL is the best thing happened to XBMC. So, Thank you very much for this, and thanks to the community for sharing those great ideas for this plugin.
Got some questions/problems, though:
LiveTV:
- No Hebrew support - hebrew channel names appears like this: \u05e2\u05e8\u05d5\u05e5 (other member called SOME1 mentioned this before)
Program description in EPG is missing and only symbols and numbers appear, BUT (!) - the program titles do appear correctly in Hebrew.
InternetTV:
I was trying different methods to stream live news, and gave up finally - I have to ask your help:
How do you set news channels live streams as channels
I tried to setup Al Jazeera English as InternetTV (chtype 9) and even tried using strm files - but no avail.
Here is my Al Jazeera channel setup attempts - which did not work:

i am scraping my media using sratim.co.il so all the info (genre,title and info) are in hebrew.
i put them all in playlists so i can set them up in PTVL but it seems that some are giving me some issues.
still have no idea why since it did work flawlessly a few versions ago but i updated to get DVB-T broadcasts.
Luna says it may be because we are using a non-english info and titles. hopefully he will resolve this sometime in the future

still have no idea why since it did work flawlessly a few versions ago but i updated to get DVB-T broadcasts.
Luna says it may be because we are using a non-english info and titles. hopefully he will resolve this sometime in the future
It's not magic logs = fix
sent you a few times some logs but you said you didnt see anything in them.
i tried with NFS & SMB & Local DB & MY SQL.
every few times i manage to populate a full set of channels and then it will get stuck again.
since most of the channels work just fine with hebrew info & title, i think it has something to do with a few media types that causes the channel to stop populating.
i had something like this with the original PTV and it was resolved (it didnt manage to read a certain type of files)
if i put the checkbox under debugging, will it tell me what media it is populating in the channels?
i am trying to pinpoint which type of media or file is causing this to halt (maybe FLV or certain MP4 files)? maybe a illegal character that i can remove?
