Hey Luna,

The new set top feature seems pretty exciting, really helps with wife acceptability factor. Can you just briefly explain how it's supposed to work? Is there anything I need to enable? I didn't see anything in the settings but I may have just overlooked it somewhere.

I'm still working out some bugs, when it's 100% finished I will release details.. the basic idea when enabled pseudotv live is in a mode to run 24/7 like a cable box... channels will self update with out the need to exit.

hey, thanks for the continued dev and documentation thus far. ive got it working a bit better for me now.

one question i couldnt find an answer for in this thread. is there a way to timeshift the listings for USTVNow? for instance, im in the pacific time zone, but all the listings show eastern time zone. if i select an episode for my current time in the EPG, it does nothing (goes back to currently playing channel), but if i scan forward 3 hours, then all the USTVNow stations work.

maybe one of the settings2.xml options for ustvnow could be gmt offset, -5 for east coast (what ustvnow broadcasts as) or -8 for pst. the guide can be adjusted based on the difference, unless that info can be grabbed from xbmc easily without a setting.

I'd like to see something like this but I would prefer to see it as a global variable in the program settings (or like you said have PSTL pull it from XBMC itself) instead of an option that is specific to USTVNow channel types.

I've already said i'm working on it... it's not as easy to test as you would think... I've got some code already written but no way of testing it... if you want to test out utc syncing pm me with your timezone and we will start testing Smile

Too bad USTVNow doesn't have you set this in your account options, but then again it appears they only broadcast in EST. That can't be a real good selling point. I'd be pissed if I was paying basic cable prices to not even get my local channels in my own region.

Of course the cable companies have a virtual monopoly on local content and I'm sure they are fighting internet based providers with everything they have. They see the proverbial writing on the wall.

Sounds great Luna, feature sounds exactly like what I was hoping for. Keep up the great work.

RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - wiz561 - 2014-07-11

When running PseudoTV, there is an icon in the upper right hand corner that is a red speaker with a line through it. I still have audio while watching TV, but was wondering what this meant and how to get rid of it.

Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind. It's an XBMC problem and not psuedotv. Sorry about that.

It turns out the family and I won't have to fly over to the US to come and watch TV at your house...LOL
But seriously, I finally got to the bottom of my PTVL problem. You were indeed right and the problem was on on my end. One of my 2 TB drives had bad sectors and was about to die. I replaced it with a new 4TB drive and now finally everything is running zippy fast!!

I can finally enjoy PTVL properly. Thanks for your help and patience. I just donated again to show my appreciation Blush

Glad it's working for you...

Just make sure the Channel Name matches the bumpers directory, e.g:

Fox channel: ...\Bumpers\Fox

That's good to know. But a couple of the channels I created are not finding the bumpers. I made the Cloo channel with in the channel configuration window using TV genre, Crime and renaming the channel to Cloo. It found the logo I made just fine in the logo folder but does not load any of the bumpers for that channel that I have in the Cloo folder with in the Bumpers folder I have designated. Nor is it loading the Chiller bumpers. I made the Chiller channel the same way through the Channel configuation window within the Pseudotv Live set up.

hey.
it seems that some of my files are screwing my channels., i have a show that the file type is .flv

as i said before to luna, if they are scraped (and it plays just fine in XBMC), the channels will just freeze while populating.
the show is a tv show but the channels that will freeze are movie channels.
it seems that the file type is causing other channels to have problems accessing the database.

do you know about any file types that can cause issues?
Read through the forum, I've already addressed similar problems and those users were able to fix their problems...

::Update::

I thought I read a previous post asking how to map the new "last channel" feature... But I don't see the post... any way for those who don't know how.

Easiest way is to download the Keymap editor program for XBMC, go to "Global", "Virtual Keyboard", "Shift" then map it to whatever key you want. Enjoy Smile

I still can't get super favourites to work. Can I send you the log?

::EDIT::

Umm it works great, lol...

Are you sure you are using the latest copy? are you adding to xbmc favorites? then copying that link to the super favs folder?

Pretty sure I'm on the latest version and yes I copied to Channel_1 directory in super favorites.. Then I tested playing the video directly in super favorites and it worked fine. Since it's just my issue though, I guess I'll figure it out. Smile

are you using auto-tune or manually adding super favs?

I'm trying to auto-tune

RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Keebler - 2014-07-12

Luna,
just wanted to update.

I have everything working except the traktv addon (not even sure what it is supposed to do for PTVL).

i was able to manually add my favorites and they ALL work Smile
which brings up a question.
why is there so much lag when playing channels that are harvested from outside sources?
they play perfectly (no lag, no skipping, no freezing) when played out of PTVL.
so my thinking is that PTVL uses aq lot of resources, and does not allow the called channels to perform as well.

FYI: I am using WNTV (world News TV add on), and FTV (filmon add on) to obtain my favorites.

they WORK in PTVL, they just have lags and freezes... is this normal?

thank you
