Also if try to start it again from programs it's a no go.

What skin are you using? I know it sounds weird, but I use SiO2-X, and I had to use the home page customizer to remove PTVL from the home screen before rebooting and installing the new version for the update to work.

I read your earlier post about the home screen and gave it a shot but no dice. The manual install really should work though. I'm wondering if 1.4.7 is actually at the end of that link I'm using.

How are you uninstalling? Have you gone into xbmc/addons and deleted the psuedo tv folder or did u do it via xbmc menu?
