The advancesetting you posted earlier should work fine.

I thought it was okay too, but when I got into the SD card and removed that file, the loop stopped. I'm not sure what caused that. Anyways, I finally got it back up and running with a log. Here's the log...would have uploaded to xbmclogs.com but I kept getting an error about my log containing a censored phrase.

Here's also a log I recovered from during the loop cycle...not really PTVL-related but I thought I'd upload it anyways.

Thanks Luna as always for you help...you are a saint among men. My apologies again for not uploading logs earlier.

The script error popups are from Steam, gotv, gomovies, and a few more I can't remember. Looking at the crash log I see a crap load of errors concerning Ulive. Don't know if any of these affect PTVL but that's what logs are for:

Just looked through your log and found that PTVL can't get channel information. I know you tried deleting cache and rebuilding channels, but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the script?

Yeah thanks, I'll try that.

Disabled dynamic artwork completely and now it doesn't lock up at all...ran for 6 straight hours with no issue (usually it would lock up after 15 minutes....) Now, I am going to test today what exactly is causing the lock up with the dynamic artwork and hopefully can let you all know...maybe something can be done for a future update? Smile

Every error you're getting doesn't originate from PseudoTV Live... to save time before posting logs, search your log for "Exception" if it has an exception coming from another plugin... you need to ask for help in their thread.

I'm gonna try and uninstall and reinstall the script as I didn't do that, so I hope Mr. McClure's remedy works.

What device are you using to run XBMC? I'm seeing one of three things happening:

1. You don't have a temporary directory on your device (unlikely)
2. The permissions for your temporary directory have been altered (slightly more likely)
3. Your device's storage is nearling full and a temporary directory can't be used due to the lack of space (most likely)

Edit: I see now that you are using Android...I should read the log more thoroughly.

Getting same error, can confirm it's issue with temp storage location, not space. Running on an android set top (MiniX Neo X8-H), device is not rooted so temp storage will likely need to try accessing the internal sd card. Top level of the sd card is either:

/storage/emulated/0/
/sdcard/

::Update::

I'm adding support for http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=200390... it will feature full Music Video EPG listings and a custom overlay that resembles the old MTV pop up... http://i.imgur.com/yUaHkeg.jpg

It will be part of a new "Music Video" chtype that will replace the old "Last.FM" chtype 12.

Is it possible to disable the update notification? I don't like updating if it's running good. My wife has already accidentally clicked on yes once and I hate to update to a version that breaks something. Everything is running nice, fast and smooth right now on 4.7. I'd rather test a new version on my desktop before I install it on my bedroom or living room systems.

Not sure how you want me to answer this...

For one, if you are running the latest "Stable" copy it will suggest updates only if there is another "Stable" update available.

The Development branch was started to filter out unwanted bugs from being added to the "Stable" version. So if you are running the Development copy then it never self updates, it has to be done manually.

Basically if you run the stable copy it is required you update in-order to run the latest code. I do not support past versions...

Has anyone had issues with XBMC crashing when you enable reserving channels 501-999 for autotune?

Banged my head on this all night before I realized it was this setting causing the crashes. Every time I launched PseudoTV Live it would build the channels and immediately crash before loading anything. Disabling this setting fixed the issue completely.

Here is the log in question: http://pastebin.com/ECzYD0en

Nothing stands out as a reason for it to crash.

Excellent news!! I am very much looking forward to implementing some music videos to PsuedoTV. I just gave the addon you mentioned a try and it is very customisable. Thanks for the introduction Smile

This was written for the original PseudoTV as a guide for creating a great experience: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/376752-A-Complete-Guide-to-creating-the-Ultimate-TV-Experience

Around point 10 or so, there is an amazing concept: creating a channel guide. I have currently 57 (and growing) channels of live and stored shows, and keeping track of what channel is what is incredibly hard to do. So, I'm creating a channel guide that will be on my channel 1 on my PTVL setup.. Any comments are welcome! If people like the concept, I will make a tutorial.

Here are the two images that make up my channel guide. As I have 57 channels, I have decided to make 2 images with a 6x5 logo grid.

Here is the actual video that I will use as my channel guide.

Back when I saw the original idea you got this from, I wanted to do the same, and so I did. Its great, it adds to it a lot and just looks cool

Also, I just uninstalled everything and downloaded the 0.4.7 development version. Installed it, restarted xbmc but now I get a script failed psuedotv.py

I completely wiped it out, so im not sure what the issue might be.

Just installed the addon...DANG! I love it! Looks like I get a Headbangers Ball channel after all Tongue Will this be implemented on the next stable as well as dev?

thought I implemented that back when you asked for it... Does it not work?

Speaking of Music Videos, I have some cool updates coming that will feature a MTV'ish overlay for music videos. (basic title and song information fade ins) along with integrating a new music plugin that was pushed recently..
More info to come...

shiet, did you? I don't see the option via the GUI settings, i'll try adding to the settings2.xml file and let you know.

@Lunatixz - 2 last.fm accounts when manually adding to the settings2.xml, thank you for this!

posted the below previously but it was an edit - not sure if you saw it.

thought of a feature req: prioritize chans for live tv - i have a few chans that I would like to update before the rest of the others to ensure that they are current,
