RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - wondercoolguy - 2014-10-11

Sorry if this issue has already been addressed I searched the forum and got back 20 pages. My psuedotv live is playing the same episodes over and over. For example I have Friends, Fresh prince, Full house, and boy meets world all on one channel. It is only playing three episodes two friends episode and one of boy meets world. In my movie channels it cycles the same three moves per genre that I've set up.

I'm currently running Windows 8, Gotham 3.2.

Weird... What version does it say is installed?

0.5.1, but I just manually downloaded the developmental branch, let it run, exit, forced channel restart, no change. Switched back to stable version, forced change channels, still the guide is out. Maybe I'm cursed lol

I'm not concerned with it being off... we can fix it... but I i'm concerned that you say the epg and overlay are different.

If it matters the overlay and EPG are now matching, just incorrect, obviously. I'm not sure why they were different earlier, but that is not the case now? Huh

well that's a big difference... lol

when they are not matching it indicates something is really wrong, lol

if it's just out of sync it's an easy fix... looking at the offset code now.. and it looks like I left a few things out... going to update development build later should have a fix or at least be a little better.

Fantastic, Luna. Moving from a Raspberry Pi to a Windows based HTPC and I'd love to make PTVL my LiveTV plugin (especially as I can make channels from my favourite YouTube media), so I'll try this again tomorrow with the developmental build and see where I'm at. Smile Thanks for all the help.

[Possible Feature Request]

I use the IPTV Simple backend for my PVR. As such, my xmltv file resides online. But I can't enter a remote path in PTVL, only local. Is there a way to include an option for a remote path for this? Or is there already a way, and I just don't know it?

Not true, about local only... there is code to handle xmltv over http... but you are the first to mention it, so test away.

instead of putting a xmltv name in setting3, put the full http of the xmltv file... so for example:
Code:
<setting id="Channel_#_type" value="8" />
<setting id="Channel_#_1" value="I60159.labs.zap2it.com" />
<setting id="Channel_#_2" value="hdhomerun://xxxxxxxD-1/tuner1?channel=qam256:399000000&program=2" />
<setting id="Channel_#_3" value="http://somewebsite/xmltv.xml" />
<setting id="Channel_#_4" value="" />
<setting id="Channel_#_rulecount" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_#_changed" value="True" />
<setting id="Channel_#_time" value="0" />
<setting id="Channel_#_rule_1_id" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_#_rule_1_opt_1" value="NY1 Live" />

alright, after quite a bit of time waiting on .5.1 for an update that un-broke it, I finally jumped to dev today to test it out and get it working again.

First of all, this was incredibly painless. I was worried I'd lose everything, but I just copied the settings2 file to my desktop, installed the dev zip, and copied my settings2 back over and all my channels were there, but now they actually loaded!

great start.

Only issues I've had is USTVNow shows up as "listing unavailable" for all the epg, but the channels all work so that's good. first time I've tried it so I'm not sure if that's a problem on ustvnow or ptvl. Other issue is that the epg is very slow. Again, these are first impressions so it's tough to say if it's truly a problem or if it's early stutters from first couple runs. As I said though, the channel listing is very slow. Bringing up the guide is about the same time as stable, but pressing up/down or page up/page down is very slow, and requests stack so if I press up, think it didn't get it and press up again, it'll go up twice..eventually. This is on a windows pc, pretty powerful gaming machine I use as a htpc.

just wanted to give some feedback since you've been asking for feedback on the dev branch to update stable for a few days and I'd been sitting on the sidelines. Thanks so much for such a fantastic plugin. it's terrific

Let the cache build up.. EPG gets faster. For ustvnow did u enable xmltv service?

Hmmmm...guess maybe I'm confused about the whole process. I use the IPTV Simple PVR addon, which acts as a front end with no backend required. But when autotuning with "Find PVR Backend" selected, I get no channels...likely because my Live TV doesn't have a backend. How do you Autotune an iptv-type listing? I'd rather not do it manually...there are over 100 channels.

You can't atm

Technically not a video plugin. Under addons, go to "enabled addons" and then "PVR Clients" and it's listed there. So it is a PVR client still, but doesn't require the traditional TV backend.

How is it redundant? Makes sense to be able to access Live TV channels in PTVL, no? You already support that function thru the "Find PVR backend" option anyway, right? And you support USTVNOW in PTVL also.

I'd rather not do it manually...there are over 100 channels.

You can't atm

Technically not a video plugin. Under addons, go to "enabled addons" and then "PVR Clients" and it's listed there. So it is a PVR client still, but doesn't require the traditional TV backend.

You can't atm, I don't plan on adding support... Since it's redundant...

How is it redundant? Makes sense to be able to access Live TV channels in PTVL, no? You already support that function thru the "Find PVR backend" option anyway, right? And you support USTVNOW in PTVL also.

Its redundant because you can already configure PTVL to run IPTV links...

Didn't u configure IPTV? IPTV doesn't provide content like ustvnow. Its two different things.

For ustvnow did u enable xmltv service?

after some more testing, everything seems to be running perfectly now. xmltv service was enabled, but maybe didn't run the first time when I noticed it? Now that I've been in and out of xbmc and re-started ptvl a few times the epg is back up to the speed I remember and ustvnow stations are pulling in the correct info. And for what it's worth, ustvnow is also synced correctly with epg timing. I'm on eastern time.
