I'm actually looking into this one right now. At first glance I don't think there's much that can be done automatically. I am looking at unmuting when pseudoTV starts, but there isn't an "unmute" function, just a mute toggle. Next though is to check the current "mute state" when pseudoTV starts and if it's muted, toggle mute off, otherwise do nothing. From what I can see, there isn't a way to check the mute state. Anyway, I'm looking at it, not seeing a good way around it yet.

Ultimately if a user can't or doesn't shutdown correctly the mute problem happens. I tried logic to detect bad shutdowns.. No luck. mute state feedback would be perfect!

I used to be a big fan of the old Add-On.

Yesterday I spend a few hours getting it to work on my set up.
I am using Openelec on an Ion device.

It was running fine for around 30min and then I started to get problems.

What happens is that when it tires to bring up the EPG the app crashes and results in a black screen with the audio still playing. If I press Esc I get back to the video but If I try to change channel it will just jump forward in the video file.

This has been driving me nuts.
I reinstalled the Addon, deleted the settings files etc, tried the development version.... all of this did not help. Every time I am trying PseudoTV I get the same error again and this with just using local media.

I tired to recreate the problem with restarting my HTPC, then starting PseudoTV with only TV genders in Autotune, then change channel two times and then pressing enter to bring up the EPG.
PseudoTV Live stops at around line 2800.
It would be great If you can see the Issue in my Log because I do not really want to reinstall my whole system if I not really have to.

Thank you for your help.

Nothing really stands out... check that you have full permissions to the nfs share folder.

Also there was a exception with skin widget. Not saying this is the problem.. just pointing out that sometimes an error from another script will kill ptvl.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look at the Log file.
I changed the skin from Amber to Confluence and now it is working again.
I am curious what is causing the problem since it was working in the beging.

Any pointers what I would have to delete to make amber work again?
Should I reinstall amber?

Cheers,
David

Not sure. I know in the past users have reported issues with amber and PTVL.

I just got it to work.

I reinstalled Amber and deleted the script.extendedinfo.
Now everything works fine.
Maybe the script.extendedinfo was causing the problem...

@Lunatixz I understand that u dont do this for the money, (and i didnt give u a large amount) However some aspect of pstv is locked for those who dont donate. And as a user of pstv I want the hole packageSmile

Is it really that hard to update the donation list ? I feel like this forum is full of drama really Tongue

This list you list of is managed by the community. The community is no longer managing the list. I was a heavy contributer at first but have since stopped because of the lack of participation from the majority of the community.

As I go through collecting YouTube channels/playlists for myself I am keeping a list of them in Notepad to submit, can I just check that this is right?

Code:
PL_jFbqOSEqaKU4fClblf8aI4e1Dc4hWgD,MBO History
PL_jFbqOSEqaLIYGS0Oz8jTlrB8PaHiwdp,MBO Animals
PL_jFbqOSEqaKpmZrDjANtm3KN1ZVVnxsR,MBO Earth
PL_jFbqOSEqaK6ld2CKrGXrVyeKbKvhsqb,MBO Organised Crime
PLjYVwcl09XYyIaT7jwObG5B6Ork523qhr,Fantastic Documentaries

Also, when adding a direct plugin chtype, if the addon lists videos with a 'Next Page' is there anyway to get the videos in the next page? I'd like to make some channels based on the blip.tv plugin but it has nine videos per page, I'd like to collect more. Thanks.

Hey @Lunatixz, been using PTV and PTVL for a long time and it has been great. I was wondering if there's any way to make the "up" & "down" buttons on the remote control the volume instead of changing channels. I usually change channels by using the EPG when I load PTVL I lose volume control and find myself changing channels by accident trying to change the volume. If there is a part of the code I can change or could it be made an option? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe a happy middle ground can be found then. How about a new settings under "Tweaks" called "Mute during channel change" that defaults to on. If it's on, then no change to the current functionality, if it's off, then don't mute between channel change. Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of muting between channel changes anyhow?

I have been working on getting a number of channels together. Once I have them nailed down I intend to submit them to the list.

I have a question for Luna however. Some of my channels are a collection of various youtube channels. For example I might have 4 or 5 different youtube channels from 4 or 5 different users grouped together as one PTVL channel called "Food Network". Can something like this be added to the community list, or should the list be limited to one YT channel/playlist per one PTVL channel?

Also, I have put together my own playlists on youtube such as "Disney Cartoons" or "Looney Toons Cartoons". Can these playlists be added to the community list?

What are you implying? Is there a problem with the donation list? Would you like to draft me a work schedule, boss? So you can let me know how to spend my free time? When I should write new code or update list... Or am I free to chose what I do with my time!

Also what aspects of my plugin is "Locked" to non donors? This plugin functions the same with or without donation.

Answer the question as I am eager to address this asanine statement.

I guess I can add a switch, mute is because some users experience a pop on the speaker during the start of videos. I guess the real issue is this users posting habits, he is very rude and confrontational... Frankly I don't want to help him! He is on my ignore list... And until other users complain about a mute problem... No updates will be made.

Is it really that hard to update the donation list ? I feel like this forum is full of drama really Tongue

This list you list of is managed by the community. The community is no longer managing the list. I was a heavy contributer at first but have since stopped because of the lack of participation from the majority of the community.

Its called YouTube network a d has existed at the community for a while. It takes multiple YouTube sources and puts it in one channel.

Okay thanks, I just wanted to make sure that there weren't any restrictions on the type/format of channels you wanted in the community list before I started adding them. I'll start adding channels as I set them up and verify they work.

Thanks.
