Video Streams Choppy on Macbook Pro - samwell - 2013-08-21
Hi All,
XMBC Noob here, i have recently installed XMBC to my macbook pro. But i seem to have very choppy playback on high quality streams, audio is perfect. on the lower quality streams its not as bad.
i had a brows through the forum and found a few saying check cpu usage so i found the highest quality stream i could and checked it at no more than 20% usage.. my internet isnt the best but even when you let it buffer its still choppy.
When i watch movies it seems to be fine, just the streams seem to suffer?
Mac Specs:
2.5 Ghz I5
4GB 1600MHz DDR3
I have had a play around with the XMBC settings but cant seem to better them. this is what i have at present:
Settings-Video-Playback:
Render: Auto
Hardware Accelerator: Checked
Adjust refresh: always
Pause during refresh: off
Sync Playback to Display: un checked
allow error in aspect: None
display 4:3 vids: stretch 16:9
active teletext: checked
scale teletext: checked
Settings-System-Video output
Display: full
vertical blanks: always
Enable lcd/vfd unchecked
Settings-System-audio
Audio ouyput: analog
speaker conf: 2.0
Boost vol: checked
output stereo: unchecked
audio output: default
play guy sounds: only when playback stopped.
any help would be great.
