Next release don't support episode folders. Sorry, but no you has started to working on that feature request. You can see it in the bug tracker if someone has started working on episode folder support.

Do you think the team is developing for your personal needs?
Be happy with what you get, and why not change your folder structure or find another media manager supporting your needs?

Does that mean that I have to store TV shows in one single folder per TV show? Guess that could be the reason why some of my TV shows get messed up in ember (see post re band of brothers above - still need to upload a screenshot of my folder structure).
What language is ember written in? Is it w collaborative effort everyone can join or a one man show?

Ember does support episode files in season folders and episode files in show folders. But episode files in episode folder in season folder is'nt yet supported.
Supported:
.\Simpsons\Season 01\Simpsons.S01E01.mkv
.\Simpsons\Season 01\Simpsons.E01.mkv (season number from parent season folder)
.\Simpsons\Simpsons.S01E01.mkv
NOT supported:
.\Simpsons\Season 01\Simpsons.S01E01\Simpsons.S01E01.mkv

I can't say that.
We have to add the same recursive function like for movies. But we have some triggers like "is in a season folder" they no longer work with episode folders. Maybe it's easy to add this feature, maybe not.

+1 I am still in awe of all the work they have already done to pick ember back up and make it as good as it is already - anything more they can is a pure bonus

Is individual episode folders even really needed - surely season folders is enough for tv shows - sounds like too much work for such little benefit

EMM works as expected and you have your rars for sharing.
