Error: Script failed! : addon.py when trying to upload log - vineke - 2013-08-31
Hi guys,
First time poster here. I'm using XBMC (Frodo) on a Mac Mini and the OSD functionality whereby you can download subtitles has suddenly stopped working. In order for you guys to be able to help me, I tried to generate a log file (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file/Easy), but when I get to step 6 (uploading the file) the following error message is displayed: "Error: Script failed! : addon.py" and no e-mail is sent.
I would greatly appreciate, if someone could help me to get this to work.

You can always locate and upload the debug log manually: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file/Advanced
Upload it to a public paste site such as www.xbmclogs.com and post the assigned URL here.

looks like your installation of the subtitles addon is corrupt.
try if reinstalling the addon fixes the issue.
if that doesn't fix it, check if this file exists:
/Users/johndoe/Library/Application Support/XBMC/addons/script.xbmc.subtitles/resources/lib/utilities.py

Hmmm - reinstalling actually worked. Did not think it was that simple. Thanx for the help.

There is also a modified version of the XBMC Log Uploader available here-http://goo.gl/7WD5bV. Kinda surprised it hasn't been updated on github.

When I try to watch something it comes up with "one or more items failed to play. Check log for info"
I've got my log sent to my email but I don't understand what it says, what should I do.

Is this a file your trying to play or an addon because be careful what addons you install as there are many illegal/banned addons available which are unreliable and just purely imho a waste of disk space.
