RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - deadite66 - 2014-03-15 yes it crashes when the video ends for me too, using xbmc ppa. I'm using xbmc-beta from AUR which is built from Gotham Beta1.you mean this? https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xbmc-devel/ if yes, you won't get any support here, as it uses external ffmpeg RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - FernetMenta - 2014-03-15 (2014-03-15, 10:27)deadite66 Wrote: yes it crashes when the video ends for me too, using xbmc ppa. something must have gone wrong with mesa or kernel. on my kabini all was fine, then I upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04. I have the same problem on some videos but not getting a stack trace with GDB. I am using Kernel 3.13.6, wsnipex's mesa repo per this guide, and unstable PPA on 13.10 64bit. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - FernetMenta - 2014-03-15 what kernel did you have with last working version? RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - deadite66 - 2014-03-15 not sure i updated as new 3.13 kernels came out, previously i was using 3.13.4 i think it was also doing the same thing though. It seems like the problem is also occurring on ubuntu systems as well however. I'm having the same issue, I installed gdb but when xbmc crashes this way it doesn't produce a stack trace. I'm also using 3.13.6. Linux Adol 3.13.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Mar 7 22:47:48 CET 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - locomot1f - 2014-03-15 so, with the new kernel, this is what i'm getting... just choppy video 3.13 is the most stable kernel for me. i also saw this post a few days ago... was going to ask about it after the weekend, but I thought this would be a good time -- http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTYyNzk locomot1f Wrote:okay, RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Pinpin - 2014-03-16 I refound which option to enable in order to have vdpau working on debian sid. But I have a strange bug : If I enable the vdpau mixer, the video is choppy. The subtitle continues normally but the movie only play 1/2s in loop until the next key-frame and replay only 1/2s in loop. But if I deactivate the vdpau mixer I don't have any issue. I'm not sure where does the bug come. Missing dependencies ? Bad compilation ? Bad xorg configuratioin ? If you have an idea and want a specific debug log feel free to ask. But for me, disabling vdpau mixer did the trick. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - deadite66 - 2014-03-16 regressed back to 3.13.1 skipping through dvb-t2 recordings is much faster, something has changed for the worse in 3.14. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-03-16 We informed ckoenig about it. UVD decoder needs nearly one second to open on 3.14-rc6 ... RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - gfisher - 2014-03-16 Has anyone got a dedicated Southern Islands card to work with HDMI audio? Any tricks? My 7750 only outputs cyclical sounds, quiet voices like wrong channel, and echos. Setup PC to TV directly HDMI (2.0 audio selected). I am working with another member to try to get it to work on a 79xx. Note-Full Xubuntu Desktop + Pulse + this How-to works. I am trying to get alsa-only how-to to work (OP guide 100%). OE-gotham beta does the same. Here is an OE log: (my how-to install has broken Realtek-drivers.. UG) http://pastebin.com/3FXkNMDE In case this helps others: I also noticed this Gotham Beta OE also *crashes stopping the video*, like noted above. Crashes on Kabini (on an AQ01 box)/Southern Islands 7750, but not on A4-3400. Same settings/thumb drive moved around. I know this is not an OE guide. It is easier to debug with it. Any tips are appreciated. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-03-16 The last one is known. Same for trusty and vdpau with mesa 10.1 RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - gfisher - 2014-03-17 OK- I fresh installed OP guide 100% (ssh working now) also to a blank hard drive (same 7750 HDMI audio distortion, HDMI 0 chosen): aplay -l http://pastebin.com/Yi8WBgrW mesa http://pastebin.com/JHhQ81sM vdpauinfo http://pastebin.com/z4QriPv5 xorg.0.log http://pastebin.com/c0RDKQS6 dmesg http://pastebin.com/t977K96x xbmc.log http://pastebin.com/E5U38jf9 EDIT: mp3 of distortion http://www6.zippyshare.com/v/41893211/file.html Fresh logs during playback. |
