Oh that's bad - xbmc won't work on that hardware then.

From http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=172473&pid=1508789#pid1508789 i got the impression that xbmc could work without gl interop... It isn't true anymore? Thanks

No - that post is nearly one year old.

pixmap code has been removed, cause it was not standard conform and used a hack to get the surfaces back.
Edit: Here is the commit: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commit/2eb701c3a5b66a8b06ce55c4a45f54f93a8bb301

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - cassperr - 2014-08-27

Hi,

I came from the older how to (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=116996) to this one.
Have been running with this setup quite while now but I see there are new versions of XBMC and Ubuntu.
Is it possible to upgrade to these new versions already? For example; I'm still not able to set a preferred subtitles provider for movies and tv shows.
Just to make sure I'm not understood, I'm running exactly as the first post of this topic describes atm.

Thanks!

EDIT: Fixed it. Update didn't go well so removing my user profile fixed it.

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - metheos - 2014-08-28

As of the 8/25 ppa:wsnipex/xbmc-fernetmenta-master build I have encountered a problem where my bluetooth remote keypresses aren't being recognized by xbmc while boblight-v4l is running.
I can do xinput test 9 with xbmc running and I see all the keypresses there, but the xbmc log shows no activity.
As soon as I pkill boblight-v4l the keypresses are recognized again.

I can use the android remote app with no problems.
I changed to ppa:team-xbmc/ppa build and do not have this problem.

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - FernetMenta - 2014-08-28

Are you saying it worked before? What version worked and when did you first notice this issue?

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - metheos - 2014-08-28

Yes it was working up until i installed this latest build. I update fairly often, but I'm not sure exactly which build I ran prior to 8/25. Also I don't know the syntax to install an older build? If it would be helpful just let me know how to do that and I'll try it out this evening.

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-08-28

How did you install the ppa:team-xbmc/ppa build?

Cause the version in there is much lower than the version you have in the fernetmenta-master ppa

Provide:

dpkg -l |grep xbmc | pastebinit
apt-cache policy xbmc | pastebinit

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - FernetMenta - 2014-08-28

please also post a debug log

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - metheos - 2014-08-28

Here's the dpkg and apt-cache output for the installed team-xbmc version that is working.
13.2~git20140817.2155-final-0trusty is what's installed

http://paste.ubuntu.com/8168821/
http://paste.ubuntu.com/8168823/

I'll make some proper debug logs tonight for both versions.
I was tailing the log last night and when I would press a key on the remote nothing happened in the log file as long as boblight-v4l was running.

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - FernetMenta - 2014-08-28

you can skip the log for 13.x, this version is of no interest. Do you roughly remember the last working Helix version?

RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - metheos - 2014-08-28

Likely it was the next most recent release. I usually update weekly. Definitely less than a month ago.

Here's the debug log.
http://paste.ubuntu.com/8173714/

Procedure:

I rebooted with debug enabled.
Pressed the down key on my remote 50 times.
Connected the android app and pressed down once.
Killed boblight-v4l.
Pressed the up key on my remote once.
