RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2015-02-16 Fernetmenta master ppa is not needed anymore at all. All the work he has done over the years were pushed upstream. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Ectholian - 2015-02-16 Yeah, so the complete line might be removed. I think it is the result of a xbmc -> kodi replace I tested a 1080p movie and i still have a small stutter about every second. There arent any skipped or dropped frames being added. CPU utilization is below 20% on each core (dual). Might it be something between the refresh rate of my tv in combination with the refresh rate of the movie? Im running with the settings provided in the first post. Logfiles: dmesg | http://paste.ubuntu.com/10259399/ kodi.log | http://paste.ubuntu.com/10259364/ Xorg.0.log | http://paste.ubuntu.com/10259365/ DISPLAY=:0 vdpauinfo | http://paste.ubuntu.com/10259366/ dpkg -l |grep mesa | http://paste.ubuntu.com/10259367/ Somewhere at line '16:55:20 T:139989285672896' starts the playing of the movie. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - numminorih - 2015-02-16 Hello guys. I had updated from ubuntu 13,10 on 14,04,02 (and dell all other ppa befor it) deimos@chip % lsb_release -a (chip)23:01 No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Release: 14.04 Codename: trusty deimos@chip % uname -r (chip)23:01 3.15.0-031500rc6-generic Dell xbmc, add sudo apt-add-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa, but when instal kodi: deimos@chip % sudo apt-get install kodi kodi-bin (1)(chip)23:01 Чтение списков пакетов… Can you help me?. THX UPD update kernel to 3.16.7 version. Still not working deimos@chip % uname -r (chip)23:11 3.16.7-031607-generic RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2015-02-17 the kernel has absolutely nothing to do with the kodi package. sudo apt-get update sudo LANG=US apt-get dist-upgrade sudo LANG=US apt-get install kodi kodi-bin LANG=US lsb_release -a | pastebinit RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Ectholian - 2015-02-18 Stutter problem solved. Apparently, my AVR was upscaling the whole signal tot 180p/50hz Disabled it and it plays like a charm. You guys did really some great work the last two years on the amd platform. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - daydr3amer - 2015-02-19 hey, i just updated my box and everything went black. when starting kodi i just get an 'Illegal instruction (core dumped)' here are my logs: Code: HTPC % dmesg | pastebinit before the update i tried to watch a video but it lagged very heavily and skipped frames, so i experimented with my vdpau settings, rebooted several times, dist-upgraded my system and installed mencoder and vdpau-va-drivers manually, and rebooted various times again. somewhere between that kodi wouldnt start anymore. here is the relevant part of my /var/apt/history.log, also after the first entry (dist-upgrade from yesterday) everything worked just fine..: Code: http://paste.ubuntu.com/10297653/ after that i purged mencoder, vdpau-va-driver and vdpauinfo, reinstalled vdpauinfo, purged kodi, kodi-bin and xbmc, reinstalled everything and really tried everything else, but nothing did solve the problem, so i wonder if anyone here knows whats going on, it drives me nuts since 2 hours already... RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2015-02-19 Install kodi stable. The nightlies currently have an SSE4.1 problem. Those instructions are build in, but old CPUs don't suppot it. With a bit of luck - the nightly of today might have it fixed. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - daydr3amer - 2015-02-19 oh wow i thought i did that.. i removed the unstable ppa and added the stable one, though forgot to remove the wsnipex-xbmc-fernetmenta ppa (what again do i need this one for??) stable version runs fine, thank you RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - wsnipex - 2015-02-19 unstable ppa is fine, nightly is not. It should be fixed tomorrow though. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2015-02-19 (2015-02-19, 10:32)daydr3amer Wrote: oh wow i thought i did that.. i removed the unstable ppa and added the stable one, though forgot to remove the wsnipex-xbmc-fernetmenta ppa (what again do i need this one for??) Currently not needed anymore. All the fixes radeon people needed are integrated in mainline. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - daydr3amer - 2015-02-19 cool thanks again fernetmenta ppa has kodi 2:15.0 in it, i guess that update killed my setup. 2:14.2 from the unstable ppa works perfectly. i just had to update my videodatabase, about two months were missing, but thats no big deal for me. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - wsnipex - 2015-02-19 please try tomorrows nightly and let me know if the issue is fixed. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - dod38fr - 2015-02-19 Hello Kodi is running fine on my system except DTS-HD and Dolby true HD. No sound is going out of my Yamaha rxv3800 amp. I'm using kodi from deb-multimedia. Here are the required pastebins: domi@frodo:~$ cat ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log | pastebinit http://paste.debian.net/ domi@frodo:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | pastebinit http://paste.debian.net/152525/ domi@frodo:~$ DISPLAY=:0 vdpauinfo | pastebinit http://paste.debian.net/152526/ domi@frodo:~$ dpkg -l |grep mesa | pastebinit http://paste.debian.net/152527/ domi@frodo:~$ dpkg -l |grep kodi | pastebinit http://paste.debian.net/152530/ Can someone shed some light on this sound issue ? Thanks RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - daydr3amer - 2015-02-19 sorry, im out of town until monday. i will test the nightly as soon as i get back RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - locomot1f - 2015-02-20 (2015-02-19, 21:27)dod38fr Wrote: Hello just fyi: your kod log is not referenced properly |
