RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2013-11-06 Looks good, check with alsamixer that nothing is muted. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - gfisher - 2013-11-06 ok all good with menus now with yesterday's fernetmenta/wsnipex build from OP. Could have been apt remove/install that fixed it after the wayland update. Don't know. using wsnipex ppa now. 06:24:55 T:139792790226816 NOTICE: Starting XBMC (13.0-ALPHA10 Git:2f4f52d). I'm sure I have done the unmute on alsamixer and the HDA Intel PCH was listed on there. I also feel everything is good, but I just didn't hear the sound. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2013-11-06 Join the channel, we will test something. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2013-11-06 If shutdown / suspend after update is not possible anymore - just reinstall the consolekit package. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - laric - 2013-11-06 Just put in an amd 6360 silent low profile card in my haswell machine and rebuilt using this thread.. it works at once and a lot better picture quality than the not very functional hd4600. Perhaps the intel drivers will work nicely with haswell in a not too distant future. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - ixbeemce - 2013-11-06 Hello all, First: many thanks to fritsch and all the other developers and testers! I installed all from scratch according to your "HowTo" on a new partition in parallel to my refernce systrem on the same hardware (AMD A10-5700) . My reference system works reasonably good (Ubuntu 12.10 with xbmc-xvba) Compared to my reference system, I notice some surges when I view some MKV (H264) movies.. Finaly XBMC crashes (see links to crash-log below). Is this a typcall behaviour, that this version of xbmc crashes, or is my configuration/installation wrong? Hopefully this infos are helpful for you. Here are the logfiles: root@htpc:~# cat ~/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log | pastebinit http://paste.ubuntu.com/6371244/ root@htpc:~# cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | pastebinit http://paste.ubuntu.com/6371245/ root@htpc:~# DISPLAY=:0 vdpauinfo | pastebinit http://paste.ubuntu.com/6371246/ root@htpc:~# dpkg -l |grep mesa | pastebinit http://paste.ubuntu.com/6371252/ Further question: were can I find "qvdpauinfo" ? Thanks in advance. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2013-11-06 Where is the crashlog? remove your pulseaudio please Code: sudo apt-get remove --purge pulseaudio libasound2-plugins qvdpautest is here: https://github.com/robertmassaioli/qvdpautest you need libvdpau-dev pkg-config libqt4-dev RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - deadite66 - 2013-11-06 (2013-11-06, 15:43)Iamroot Wrote: Thanks for all the great effort here and I was able to have the XBMC up and running. so you're using using line-in the TV for audio? on my new TV i can say tell it to use hdmi or line-in but on my old TV i had to patch the EDID to disable audio on HDMI as i was using a HDMI2dvi cable. but that was for a Nvidia card not sure if radeon is also affected. http://analogbit.com/software/edid_disable_exts RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - ixbeemce - 2013-11-06 @fritsch Thanks for you quick answer. I got no crashlog because of: xbmc@htpc:~$ ./startxbmc.sh Bus error (core dumped) /usr/bin/xbmc: 81: /usr/bin/xbmc: systemd-coredumpctl: not found Crash report available at /home/xbmc/xbmc_crashlog-20131106_182759.log I probably have something to configure/install to get a core-dump, but what? RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2013-11-06 run the xbmc.bin directly in the debugger sudo apt-get install gdb gdb /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin set logging on crash.txt run .... let it crash ctl -c thread apply all bt press enter until nothing comes anymore quit and pastebin the crash.txt Edit: It is /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin of course RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Claudio.Sjo - 2013-11-06 (2013-10-27, 11:31)Claudio.Sjo Wrote: The new kernel gets better results. it seems that new kernel 3.12.0+ together with the latest drivers deteriorated some results in MIXER Code: qvdpautest 0.5.2++ RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2013-11-06 Hehe, yes Earlier there was no mixer temporal at all, but it is there now :-) Therefore you see real values. It just did nothing before or better it did just bobbing. And I'm using line in to another device for the audio. It works OK with my earlier install based on old Ubuntu version and old ATI drivers. By following this thread, I can notice the hard accelerator for video, but I lost the audio. I'm not sure if it is XBMC problem, but maybe it is more a Ubuntu issue with this new Radeon driver?(2013-11-06, 15:43)Iamroot Wrote: Thanks for all the great effort here and I was able to have the XBMC up and running. I'm keep digging on it, but didn't get much clue yet. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - nunux59 - 2013-11-07 Hello, first, thank you fritsch and all the devs for the all this work, its amazing! I was wondering if the temporal deinterlacing could only be achieved by using wsnipex ppa xbmc package or if the team xbmc package is ok for temporal deinterlacing (I want the most stable system possible). I'm not at home at the moment but my test before the Saucy update gave me screen disco in 3d apps like another member of the forum. I will test this week end with Saucy and if the disco screen is still there I will make a video to show what append. The interesting thing is that even with this problem videos were playing fine using VDPAU. My hardware is AMD A4 4000 APU with integrated Radeon HD7480D. |
