Slow video and no sound with AAC - beldeche - 2013-10-06

Hi,

I've just made a fresh XBMCBuntu12.2 install, I have a GeForce 8800 GTX and a Terratech Aureon 5.1 PCI.

I'm using the optical port and have no problem with videos in AC3 sound.

When I try to play videos where sound is encoded in AAC, I have no sound and slow videos. I tried checking and unchecking the AAC support in the sound settings with no difference.

It should definitely be unchecked. Please post a full debug log.

Here is my log file: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=66974
NB: the optical port was not plugged when I made this log but the video was still laggy

Have you tried another file with AAC audio? There seems to be something wrong with the file, don't know if that's related to your audio issue though.

This file plays fine with my PC and OpenElec Raspberry.
I also tried other files like this one: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=67313 and they are also soundless and laggy.

I have no knowledge of the software but this part is troubling me:
13:56:47 T:2940562240 INFO: CAESinkALSA::InitializeHW - Your hardware does not support AE_FMT_FLOAT, trying other formats
13:56:47 T:2940562240 INFO: CAESinkALSA::InitializeHW - Using data format AE_FMT_S24NE4
...
13:56:47 T:2940562240 DEBUG: CSoftAEStream::CSoftAEStream - Converting from AE_FMT_S16NE to AE_FMT_FLOAT
Shouldn't CSoftAEStream convert from AE_FMT_S24NE4 instead of AE_FMT_S16NE ?
