RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - ThaDraGun - 2014-04-28 I have my remote all setup. The buttons are the way I want them. Noticed that it's not 100% responsive tho. Is the IR on the nuc spotty, or maybe my IR blaster isn't lined up correctly? Anyone else have issues with it? It's not horrible, but would like the buttons to work every single time, and quick response. RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - scarecrow420 - 2014-04-28 Yes I am having issues with harmony remote response (worse than normal even for a harmony remote which isnt stellar) and also getting double presses. Have tried the limited options in logitech software to reduce repeats and delays etc but its still not quite right. My celeron NUC seems worse than my i3 haswell NUC, eventhough both remotes are setup the same. And both NUCs are definitely worse than my non NUC HTPC's using the USB IR receiver from an MCE remote bundle. In my case all devices are running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and the Logitech Harmon is using device "MCE Keyboard" (i map all the keyboard shortcuts to the correct buttons, P for play, X for stop, etc) RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - eirki - 2014-04-28 (2014-04-28, 02:48)scarecrow420 Wrote: Yes I am having issues with harmony remote response (worse than normal even for a harmony remote which isnt stellar) and also getting double presses. My solution was to position one of the IR repeaters the came with the Harmony remote directly in front on the NUC ir receiver, less than an inch away. This removed all the double presses and lack of responsiveness, even though the harmony hub was already positioned right next to the NUC. Works a lot better, but it doesn't exactly look classy. RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - javis - 2014-04-28 What are your thoughts on INTELs sneaky NUC upgrade N2820 -> N2830 http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2014/04/24/intel-n2820/1 Does the difference in graphics chip spec between NUCs make any real performance and quality difference? http://ark.intel.com/compare/75107,79052,81071 I'm planning on using XBMC/windows or an OpenElec/Linux setup //Javis RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - -DDD- - 2014-04-28 (2014-04-28, 14:34)javis Wrote: Does the difference in graphics chip spec between NUCs make any real performance and quality difference? http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=184930&pid=1689011#pid1689011 Quote:Baytrail graphics with just 4 EUs, as it's even too slow for Lanczos 3.http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=184930&pid=1689098#pid1689098 http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=184930&pid=1689409#pid1689409 RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - Ipaddle - 2014-04-29 Ok, does anyone have the video settings for the NUC D54250WYK? Compared to the Xtreamer Ultra2 I think the picture is a little bit blurred. Thanks. Remote works fine. Disabled WOL to power on/off with remote. RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - -DDD- - 2014-04-29 Which settings do you mean? In XBMC/OpenElec? In Windows? How is your actual Setting? RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - -DDD- - 2014-04-29 I dont't have a NUC and use a Nighties from 25 January 2014, so my Settings wouldn't be Interesting i think. --------- There is a Patch in Beta7 - http://openelec.tv/forum/120-news-announcements/70593-beta-openelec-4-0-beta-7-released Quote:linux: add patch to enable Nuvoton CIR driver on probing, see https://patchwork.linuxtv.org/patch/22339 Maybe the fix for enabling CIR by autostart.sh isn't needed any more. BIOS update work (Power on/off with remote and WOL). Not sure about the remote patch that should make the autostart.sh superfluous. Picture is not blurred anymore. Anybody who can help with audio settings? Mini HDMI (from NUC) to HDMI (TV) and then using digital audio out from TV to DTS/DD capable receiver. I get Dolby Digital, but no DTS. Why? Before I used Xtreamer with SPDIF (optical) directly to receiver. RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - fritsch - 2014-04-30 Quite easy: The TV can only forward AC3, which is quite lucky for you 90% of TVs out there can only forward 2 channel PCM. Disable DTS, Enable AC3 transcode option and everything (not PCM) should get out as Dolby Digital. That means I would need to invest in a DTS capable receiver with HDMI connection to get DTS or just be satisfied with DD? Well, I can not hear the difference anyway. |
