Yes of course there will be, whether they will be out when they launch is unknown. Heres one for example; http://www.tranquilpcshop.co.uk/nuc-next-unit-of-computing-chassis-haswell/ RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - solamnic - 2013-10-29 (2013-10-29, 23:29)Platypus2 Wrote:(2013-10-29, 23:12)mattchapman Wrote: Will there be passive cases for the NUC Haswell? they "forgot" to add space for a sata drive.... RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - Budwyzer - 2013-10-29 Get the i5. SteamOS will be out soon. =D (2013-10-29, 23:43)solamnic Wrote:(2013-10-29, 23:29)Platypus2 Wrote:(2013-10-29, 23:12)mattchapman Wrote: Will there be passive cases for the NUC Haswell? It was only one example, I'm sure there will be plenty coming out, probably early next year at this rate. Intel are planning on releasing their own case with space for sata drives so I'm sure passive ones will follow after. EDIT: Here you go http://www.fanlesstech.com/2013/10/exclusive-akasa-tesla.html RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - floydje07 - 2013-10-30 I've noticed a difference on the website http://shop.ba-computer.at/catalogsearch/result/?q=intel+nuc&x=0&y=0 There's a box with product id: BOXD54250WYK & BOXD54250WYK2 The '2' is a bit more expensive. Does anyone know the difference? I think it's because you get a Type C,E (Central Europe) powercord with it, but i'm not totally sure. RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - Camlann - 2013-10-30 I can't see a difference other than the Power Cord, but I wonder why the difference would make about €15,-- Also, I can't find any Infos on the "2" Version on the Intel Site. RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - solamnic - 2013-10-30 any compatible MC Remote will do... no tweaking need while using Openelec... This one looks pretty good http://www.fanlesstech.com/2013/10/haswell-nuc-chassis-are-here.html RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - sheva7 - 2013-10-30 just a noob question... why do ppl want to get separate case/chassis for NUC? whats wrong with the one supplied? btw what is a passive case? RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - solamnic - 2013-10-30 The one supplied is not passive.. Some reviews report that fan gets a bit noisy when stressed (i5 version)... RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - cecemf - 2013-10-30 (2013-10-30, 14:51)sheva7 Wrote: just a noob question... why do ppl want to get separate case/chassis for NUC? whats wrong with the one supplied? passive case means that their is no fan therefor no fan noise, the heat will dissipate passively through the case. Big advantage and it gives you a zero noise box, no fan noise no buzzing etc... RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - sheva7 - 2013-10-30 ah i see .. thanks for the explanation.. how much is a passive case for nuc usually? RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - 00b5 - 2013-10-30 (2013-10-30, 15:24)sheva7 Wrote: ah i see .. thanks for the explanation.. how much is a passive case for nuc usually? Too much for me regarding the first ones i saw, but there seems to be a lot more now, and they have a large range: http://www.fanlesstech.com/2013/03/fanless-nuc-roundup.html They start at about ~$80 and (way) up these days. RE: Haswell NUC + XBMC - Platypus2 - 2013-10-30 And another bonus is that they provide quite abit of dust protection too (2013-10-30, 14:04)cecemf Wrote: And it's for i5 only not the i3 Again, it was only one example But is that going to make a difference? Think it would only fit the i5 and not the i3? |
