How to keep original title - lankou - 2013-12-11
Hello All,
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I can't succeed to solve this.
I have some French movies and TMM keeps changing their titles to English.
I can't seem to switch back to French titles. I have no problem with EMM as
EMM keeps the French titles.
Is there a way to achieve this with TMM ?

hmm.. depends on various factors:
- what is your scraper language set to? (this has precedence; at least, we try to)
- which scraper do you use?
- what region are you from (expecially for imdb)
- ...
can you send us the debug logs?
as workaround, you could uncheck the "original title" checkbox... so we'll never update them...

I am located in Austria.
If I switch the Preferred language to "francaise" in that case, I get the french title. However when
I scrape a US movie, I get also its french title.
I also tried to uncheck 'original title' but it did not work. I also tried imdb and tmdb but with
'Preferred language' set to English, it resulted also to the English title.
How do you produce a debug log ?
I like very much TMM because it is very fast at scrapping.

well there are 2 things to be aware of:
a) title = localized title (depends on the preferred language you have chosen)
b) original title = title under which the movie was created
3 examples (German as pref. language)
Title: Asterix der Gallier
OT: Astérix le Gaulois (french movie)
Title: X-Men der letzte Widerstand
OT: X-Men: The Last Stand (US Movie)
Title: Wickie und die starken Männer
OT: Wickie und die starken Männer (German Movie)
