Watchout this Linux Build .......... it works great on atv 1200

Is this build based on Pivos, Geniatech and/or Croniccorey?

Don`t know but its working like charm (think its croniccorey build (git Feb2014) cause "remote on" works Smile

Biatsch:

So, the remote power off/ power on works in this version? Also, is it possible to set the time zone properly too?

My time zone hasn't been right for weeks using XDA Linux XBMC Rofl. It doesn't bother me but the wife.... well that's another story. :S

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - redi - 2014-02-26

anyone else have an issue with XDA where it's non responsive the next day?

I control all my stuff with my harmony remote, and because the power off in xbmc brings up the suspend and timer menu, it essentially stays on all the time.

the next day when I turn my stuff on, the blue lights are on the 520 but the screen is black. the only way I can get it back on is to power cycle it.

this is using xda pre RC2 firmware.

Biatsch:

According to the JynxBox specs, it only has a single core CPU, although it and the GPU are the right ones.

Can you check under XBMC info to see if it recognizes the duel core in the ATV1200?

Standby is running, DualCore is recognized, Wifi over wifimanager and Timezone OK................. to get all keys for remote Exchange remote.conf in etc/xbmc.............. no issue mentioned

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - @XMPeu - 2014-02-26

Works like a charm on the MyGicaATV1200 option 2! Really fast, stable and buffers perfect!!

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - superfreak79 - 2014-02-26

I'd like to get rid of the "theatre in a box" image. Why couldn't they just show use some penguins?

Biatsch:

Copy that! I'll give it a try tomorrow. One last question, did you migrate to the JynxBox version from Android, XDA, or Geniatech and with what install method?

BTW: What do you mean by 'option 2'? (OK, that's two questions.)

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - Biatsch - 2014-02-26

Jynxversion is bootcard method dont need to migrate just follow instructions

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - superfreak79 - 2014-02-26

I tried to change the "logo.img" in the Jynzbox version... but that messed with the validation of the file. If I make changes to the firmware .zip, how do I update the checksum (?) so validation works?

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - superfreak79 - 2014-02-26

ATV520 Urg (see image).
Image

I flashed the Jynxbox, but I didn't like the "theatre in a box" boot logo so I tried to get back to Geniatech or XDA Linux XBMC. But now I'm stuck for some reason. I managed to get to recovery - however the Geniatech .spi nor .stvmx would install.

Errors "build.date.utc" and "build.product"

Ideas?

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - tinker - 2014-02-26

Biatsch:

OK, I'm sold on the JynxBox version. I'll see how it installs on my ATV520 and let folks know how it goes.

superfreak79:

Check out my earlier post on using the latest Confluence Skin to get access to skin mods at least. It doesn't solve changing the boot picture but will give you more control then before.

RE: [HOW TO] XBMC Linux on Geniatech Devices - superfreak79 - 2014-02-26

Wait a second... if Jynxbox is M6 and ATV520 is MX... is that why I have one red and one blue light on the box? Is that why I can't flash back to Geniatech? See above: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=180446&pid=1638171#pid1638171

Using SSH is there anything I can do about it?
