**SOLVED** Receiver only shows LPCM for DTS audio - MisterMacGruber - 2013-12-19 I have a raspberry pi running openElec (latest version) which is connected to my Sony STR-DH520 AV receiver that is capable of decoding all the latest audio formats. When playing a file with DTS-HD or DTS audio my receiver only shows LPCM (which to my understanding means that the audio is being decoded before being sent to the receiver). I've compared the sound of a Blu-Ray with a Blu-Ray rip of the same film and can confirm that I'm not receiving true surround sound from the raspberry pi. In the Audio config I have: Audio Output = HDMI Speaker configuration = 5.1 Boost volume level on down mix = Yes Output stereo to all speakers = No Dual audio output = No Boost centre channel when downmixing = Yes Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver = Yes DTS capable receiver = Yes Any thoughts on how I can force hdmi audio passthrough from the pi to my receiver? Thanks in advance. RE: Receiver only shows LPCM for DTS audio - draijsch - 2013-12-19 hdmi_force_edid_audio=1 Put that in your config.txt and it should do the trick RE: Receiver only shows LPCM for DTS audio - MisterMacGruber - 2013-12-19 Solved! Thanks draijsch! Here's a tip for anyone running multiple operating systems on their raspberry pi: You will have MORE THAN ONE config.txt file. The first time I tried this fix, it did not work. Turns out I was adding the line to the config.txt file of Raspbian, and NOT openElec. After editing the correct config.txt file, everything runs perfectly. |
