3D Content - voyagerxp - 2013-12-24

I've treated myself to a new tv, a 3d tv and now i have been ripping my 3d blu-ray disks to store on my htpc to view but not sure how these are set on xbmc and Aeon Nox. I created a folder called 3D and named the video files like this, Pacific Rim 3dbd (2013) and added them. I then created a smart playlist and created a new main menu entry called 3D, all the movies show up but in the normal clear bluray case and not the clear 3d bluray ones. What am i doing wrong?

RE: 3D Content - baijuxavior - 2013-12-24

3DBD won't work. Name like Pacific Rim.3D.SBS.Blu-Ray.mkv. or PAcific Rim.3D.Blu-Ray.mkv

Thanks my friend, that's worked a treat.

RE: 3D Content - voyagerxp - 2013-12-24

Got another 3D question, When i select my movie lets say Pacific Rim.3D.Blu-Ray.mkv at the moment i have to click on the menu button on my tv remote and select side by side or whatever 3d standard i am using. Auto 3D does not seem to work but it does on my standalone blu-ray player, is auto 3D not possible on xbmc or am i missing something?.

RE: 3D Content - baijuxavior - 2013-12-25

Auto 3D is not supported. You have to manually select the 3d mode in TV.

RE: 3D Content - voyagerxp - 2013-12-25

Right i thought so but is there a way to get all 3D mkv and iso's on my system play on power dvd or is auto 3D not supported.

RE: 3D Content - Oxize - 2013-12-25

Your tv needs to be switched in 3d mode, to overlay the side by side or top by top 3d movie. This cant be done by external programs. You always need your remote to set that mode.

RE: 3D Content - baijuxavior - 2013-12-25

You can use PowerDVD as an external player for 3d movies. Read the external player threads.

RE: 3D Content - voyagerxp - 2013-12-25

I've started to look through that thread but its massive lol, it looks like i have to modify the playercorefactory and a a rule but i can't get my 3d mkv files to use power dvd instead of the xbmc default player.
