This patch (which is in my latest build) certainly makes a huge difference with scrolling text - much smoother and lower CPU load (still high for such a trivial GUI update, but at least not maxed out!)

I'm using the night build from 1125 and have a problem with the time. It appears there are no timezone options. For US, I only have the options of us 12h and us 24h. Are the timezone options located elsewhere now? Thanks.

Open the slideout menu on the left and choose user level "Advanced" or "Expert". Retry the timezone options.

Todays build. Very impressive:
- chirping fixed!
- cpu on idle is significantly lower (7-8%) than last time I checked!
- Spontaneous crashes while in TV recording list seem to be fixed!
- cpu in a window with scrolling text (i.e. plot description) is about 65%
- channel changing is now <5 seconds (mythtv/hdhomerun). A couple of seconds chopped off since last time I checked.

EDL fix - Unfortunately, XBMC does not seem to be reading the EDL at all on this build - The EDL field is blank when you press "contextual menu" during playback. NB: I also saw this on the Nov 21 nightly build (xbmcnightlybuilds.com). HOWEVER, Nov 24 build (post 1462, I believe) DID have EDL.

I'm in System --> Settings --> Appearance --> international I see no way to bring out the slide out bar to choose expert or advanced.

Another thing I noticed was that under Audio, when selecting Analog there are no choices fro 2.0, 3.1. 5.1, etc.. I appologize as I haven't searched to see if that was brought up yet.

Sure, though I will take down the file when it is updated by a newer version so please point them to this thread for latest version etc.

You need to be in advanced/expert mode to get speaker configuration.
To change settings mode go to settings/system and the bottom entry says "settings level: standard". Click that to cycle through the options.

Anyone having problems with subtitles?

Fresh install, because updating from Rbej builds would not play videos (black screen), video playback is fine but the subtitles that are all rectangles and squares.

Any ideias on what's wrong?

TIA

What kind of subtitles, can you post mediainfo? Embedded subtitles in MKVs (vobsub, srt) are both working for me (256 GPU in case that makes a difference).

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - xbs08 - 2013-11-28

A reboot fixed it. srt subtitles.

Thanks

I have this problem too, sometimes, during the first seconds, the subtitles are only rectangles.
I'm using .srt file straming from web.

Thanks.

Yes, there is an srt subtitle bug. I've tracked it down to this PR:
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/3565

I thought I'd fixed it, but there's still a problem. I see all subs for the movie appear at time=0. In my test clip it recovers after this.
I'm not sure if this can also cause rectangles.
I've asked elupus for suggestions.
