Changing the keep-alive setting didn't help, most odd.

What's the make and model of AVR?
Can you output sound from TV - does that sound okay?

GUI sounds over HDMI are the same as Windows.

Thanks guys!

The AVR is a Sony DA2400ES.

Just updated to 16843 on another (my original "testing" 256MB) Pi, switched it over to the TV/AVR combo, same result, so no idea what is going on here.

Edit: Just noticed phil_s Unary Clock Screensaver works perfectly!

Can you confirm if it sounds okay through TV?
I need to know if that receiver does not like the way we are outputting sound, or if there's something in your setup (e.g. in guisettings/advancedsettings/config.txt) that is causing the problem.

If the TV sounds okay, then we know your setup is okay.

Plugged the HDMI directly into the Samsung PS50B530, altered the TV's audio to Internal Speakers, rebooted the Pi, and the Gui sounds are the same as through Analogue, so .. that's one problem sorted, however they are still intermittent, moving through menu's etc it's hit and miss when a Sound is made, there doesn't appear to be a pattern?

Anyone else getting intermittent sounds?

E.g. I'm in settings/system/audio output. There are 10 options here. I've just done:
press down / listen for click
multiple times so I've scrolled through list 10 times (100 clicks). All were present. Does that work for you?

Just done the self same test, 10x tried, results are a maximum of 3 "clicks" per run, the minimum 1, and a few "2's"

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - pikoli - 2013-12-04

Same thing is happening on my setup. Approximetly 1/3 of the clixs doesn't produce a sound, or we can hear only part of it.

And scraping is still not working for me. I downgraded to "9.10. rbey ghotam popcornmix", and here scraper works just fine.

Does Openelec also update the Pi Firmware when i just push the .tar in the update folder?

If you press the key and wait a few seconds do you always hear the sound?
i.e. do you only lose sounds when close together (i.e. held down key)

Yes.

It looks like it. I checked the contents of /flash when I updated by this method a few days ago. All of the software files (i.e. not the settings files) had the date of the build.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - mikeb93 - 2013-12-04

my Pi doesn't fully boot with the latest milhouse build. I get into XBMC right before amber displays it's full skin. So only background image for me... -.-'

stops right here:
