RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - allan87 - 2013-08-08

Much bugs. Sorry.
Sadly, the August 8 build does not remedy the MythTV seek/skip issue, and introduces new problems that I had not previously observed:
1. FF no longer works (in MythTV, anyway - I did not test elsewhere). The 2x FF is, in fact, less than 2x FF. Each time you press FF again (to double FF speed) the video returns to the beginning of the recording.
2. Audio in some media plays only from left channel. Of the three videos I tested:
- a locally streamed (NFS) DIVX/MP3 video played both channels;
- a locally streamed AVC1/AAC played only the left channel;
- a remotely streamed h264/AAC (Free Cable addon) played only the left channel
3. Worst reboot freeze ever. Previously, on a fail to reboot, it would just kill and restart XBMC. This time, it also froze on the XBMC splash screen. Had to reboot from SSH.
4. MP4s with chapter markers display that they are in chapter 0, and pressing chapter skip takes you to the beginning of the movie (note: I have seen this before).
5. MythTV still broken, as previously described.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - Huuh - 2013-08-08

Is anyone else having a problem with the OSD when playing a video? I use a mouse to control everything, and when I move the mouse to the bottom of the screen, the play, fast forward, rewind, pause, etc. bar comes up from the bottom of the screen while playing a video, but it will disappears suddenly and I can't do pause, or stop or skip in a video. In order to stop video from playing, I have to push the x button on the top right hand side of the screen to use other buttons to stop the video.

Although the mythtv skipping, fast forwarding, etc. doesn't work, I don't really mind, at least the deinterlace seems to be working better now. To get around the mythtv problem, instead, I have been just playing the recorded files directly through VIDEOS, rather than through LIVE TV. Of course you don't get the convenience of seeing all the names of the shows you recorded, instead the file name only has the date of when the recording was made.

@ Trickname, @ Huuh,

I can confirm the same OSD-Problem with LIVE TV. This effect is new, and this is not with Recorded TV or any video. Quite funny.

FF, Rewind etc, even changing channels by entering numbers are working properly. This is the best build I ever tested!

It is not clear whether you are saying that skip and ff are working for you with live tv and you have not indicated which addon you are using

Sample files for 2 and 4 would be useful.

Before that my rasp played the 3D Movies, so i dont has to manually push the 3D Button on my remote. I started a film and the TV (LG 620LM65) switched automatic to 3D mode, if turned manually the 3D mode off, the Movie was in 2D. This was the reason i decided for Rasp. But now if i played a 3D movie, i have the two SBS oder HOU Pictures an must manually switch to 3D, like with other players or over UPNP. And if 3D movie ist played now, the on Screen menu, is totally (because of the two pictures overlayed) destroyed and to catch e. g. the "Subtitle" button, is like lottery winning. Wink

Can you try this build:

Hi, thx for the Link i ll try on Weekend, cause im on a business trip, sadly Sad

Hello Popcornmix,

Couldnt wait, made the update via VNC from my server to rasp and my Girlfriend tested it. 3D is with setting switched to NONE is back to normal and the TV goes straight in 3D Mode like in the previous Build! Thx for that!!!

And this build takes my mysql database without any harm to the new 76 Database and works like the old Database 75!
First i didnt noticed at all, i saw it on my mysql admin tool on server. This is the first Time that it worked without any data loss or to make a complet new DB. Thx for that Team XBMC!!

There's one big Bug in this release. If you are in Movies or TVShows and want to switch the View (List, Thumbnails, Coverflow) the XBMC takes a reset and restart immediatly.

Hope this BugReport helps!

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - doveman2 - 2013-08-08

I'm having a bit of a problem with my database I think

I've been using a PC to test (192.168.1.64) but now am setting up with the actual machine that will be hosting the real media for this RPi (192.168.1.69). Both machines are running Hanewin NFS Server with identical settings. I tried deleting the databases and thumbnails and then added a new source for Movies but it's not showing covers for most of them. The log shows a lot of Thumbnail not found errors.

I tried removing the source, cleaning the Library and re-adding it but it's still doing the same thing.

Not as important but does anyone know how to make Universal Movie Scraper default to selected when adding a Movie source? Adding other sources they all have a scraper selected by default but Movies doesn't, probably because I deleted the default scraper for some reason, so I want to set it so that UMS is selected, otherwise it's easy to overlook and add the source with no scraper.

Looks like you should have deleted Database\Textures13.db as well.

Ah, thanks, I was wondering what that was for Wink

On this build and the 06.08. build WLAN doesn't work anymore. Until 04.08 it was OK

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - doveman2 - 2013-08-09

OK, I've got my covers working again but I'm finding it's taking a long time (like 18s) to open some movies. It doesn't seem to like 8 Mile or Babylon (both AVIs) but other movies (MKVs) open almost instantly, so I'm not sure what's up with that.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - doveman2 - 2013-08-09

Just had a weird bug. I booted my RPi without my PC on, so it couldn't get the EPG from Mediaportal, so I went to Settings - TV and did Reset EPG database (even though I've got "Do not store EPG in the database" set, as this just seems to double the start-up time for no discernible benefit) and I think I saw it say "Resetting EPG" or something and then the screen went black for almost two minutes (10:02:55 - 10:04:46 judging by the log) before coming back where it was before.

I'm currently running an overclock of 1000/333 and overvoltage=6 but I don't think this seems like the sort of thing that might be caused by overclocking.
