RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - kikettas - 2013-08-12

The latest build wont let me change skin views - when attempting to switch to anything other than 'list', the Pi reboots. I have tested this on several skins.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - doveman2 - 2013-08-12

Still crashing when trying to open the EPG Timeline. I can open the TV Channels view OK though.

I don't understand as it was working fine and I'm still using the same build, etc.

Is there any clue in the logs? http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=44681

EDIT: Hmm, seems this might be a skin bug, as it works with Confluence Modified just not with xTV-SAF, although it was working fine with that after it updated a few days ago, for a day or two at least.

Updated Gotham Branch

- updated OpenElec build

http://netlir.dk/rbej/builds/

works again with the 09.08 version, Thanx!

Hello rbej,

in the new build is the reset bug, if i would change the view in the Movie oder TV-Series Database (List, Thumbnail, Fanart,), still present.
If i like to change the view and press button, xbmc resets immediatly and restarts.

UPDATE:
After some hours of testing, i think i got the bad boy which makes the resets. I saw that there is a ViewModes6.db and in my other Branches (Gotham Alpha 5, Frodo 12.2) there are ViewModes4 and 5.db.
So if i take the last newest ViewModes5.db and delete the ViewModes6.db in the Alpha7, then i could switch some ViewModes in the Movie or TV Database. But only in first view if you go in TV-Shows! If you are in a TV Show e. g. 24 and you have there 7 Seasons and want to switch the View there, it takes a reset too.

So i think the Version 6 of the ViewModes is somehow broken and makes everytime a reset if you want to switch the ViewModes, but with the old ones you got only 50% of the ViewModes. So nothing is really satisfactionally... Wink

Hope this helps to get the ViewMode working again.

Greetz,
J.

The reset bug was still also present in the previous Version (Gotham). If i delete the viewmode6 db and copy from a backup the viewmode4 and 5 i can switch the root views of e.g. TvShows but not if i in an show, with the season covers, if i try to switch the mode there, RESET. Huh

For me, the latest build seems to break my IR receiver: http://www.adafruit.com/products/157 does anyone else have this problem?

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - PeaceMkr - 2013-08-14

Yes, IR is broken last 2 rbej-releases. Ive checked that the kernelmodul is working and getting the ir-commands but lirc seems to be broken because irw is not assigning the buttons..

Remote Controllers - tfft - 2013-08-14

I've been using my Android phone (ie. via WiFi) and a physical keyboard to control the RPi/XBMC and would now like to start using a dedicated remote controller - as such, which remote/solution should I purchase ?

Which remotes/dongles, etc work best on the RPi ? I'm looking for the most solid offering, best working options, etc. I'd rather not depend on the WiFi either - so Radio/IR, etc would be fine.

If there is a Wiki that discusses these things, do please point-out the URL.

Thanks.

I'm using this one. It's IR and worked out of the box.

I noticed it after compiling rev df91888

Is there a way to fix this?

Anyone here knows why default weather provider is removed from code?

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - kaiserkeiser - 2013-08-14

Have you got CEC on your TV? i'm controlling my Pi with my TV remote.

Samsung call it Anynet+

You need a decent HDMI cable to pass the signal

Apparently Weather providers (NB W.U.) are complaining about load XBMC is putting on their systems, so Weather is being made opt in rather than opt out.
