RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - Wanderlei - 2013-09-30 Tried updating to 3.2.1, via dropping KERNAL and SYSTEM files in update folder. After reboot it couldnt find the storage partition. I have it on USB, I checked cmdline.txt and it was still correct. I thought update might not work if storage is on USB. Got image of 3.2.1 'thestateofme'. First time it seemed corrupted, so I re-downloaded and tried again. Keeps hanging on boot and complaining it cant find /sda1 storage. It did eventually boot up once, but it took about 3 minutes. I thought maybe the storage partition had been damaged, went back to 3.2 and its completely fine. RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - Milhouse - 2013-09-30 Could be a bug in the firmware (issue #214). Wait for 3.2.2, or try the latest bootcode.bin/start.elf/fixup.dat firmware from https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware with 3.2.1 and see if that fixes the problem. RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - Wanderlei - 2013-09-30 Cheers Milhouse, gave it a shot, still fails to mount storage. I'll just wait for 3.2.2. ----- Following this on github about CEC and LG tvs. https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/issues/176#issuecomment-25330279 LG tvs have new firmware version 4 which is not compatible with libCEC in 3.2. Any chance updating libCEC with future releases? RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - h.udo - 2013-09-30 (2013-09-30, 07:15)Wanderlei Wrote: Tried updating to 3.2.1, via dropping KERNAL and SYSTEM files in update folder. Apparently there's a problem with the firmware when you use USB Storage partition. Tested it yesterday. Results: Create new card under Ubuntu with 3.2.1 - RPi doesn't boot. Stops at OpenELEC logo. Create new card under Ubuntu with 3.2.0 and manual copying 3.2.1 files - RPi doesn't boot. Stops at OpenELEC logo. OpenELEC 3.2.0 internal update to 3.2.1 - Stops at OpenELEC logo, chews something for a bit, takes a few minutes to fully boot (3.2.0 can boot in under 30s). Very unstable and sometimes spits out "canĀ“t find /dev/sda1 bla bla bla..." Also tried disk=LABEL=Storage and disk=UUID=uuid_value_here. Same problem. Using only the SD card seems to work a lot better, aldo a lot slower than 3.2.0. Takes well over a minute to boot. RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - popcornmix - 2013-09-30 If you have usb problems on 3.2.1, can you report: Code: vcgencmd version RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - doveman2 - 2013-09-30 I presume then that rbej's build here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169674&pid=1515914#pid1515914 used 3.2.1 as I couldn't boot anymore using my USB stick with and had to revert to the 15/09 build http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169674&pid=1516203#pid1516203 RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - [email protected] - 2013-09-30 (2013-09-30, 13:32)doveman2 Wrote: I presume then that rbej's build here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169674&pid=1515914#pid1515914 used 3.2.1 as I couldn't boot anymore using my USB stick with and had to revert to the 15/09 build http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169674&pid=1516203#pid1516203 I'm using Rbej latest frod build on two pi (one 256mb the other 512mb) and both boot to usb stick.. (what hudo explained is exactly what I experience too) RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - h.udo - 2013-09-30 (2013-09-30, 12:57)popcornmix Wrote: If you have usb problems on 3.2.1, can you report: Can't test now. I'm at work. I'll test later following the procedure described above (OE internal update form 3.2.0 to 3.2.1). Seems to be the only one working, sort of. RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - popcornmix - 2013-09-30 People with USB issues on 3.2.1 can you try updating firmware manually. Download: https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/raw/master/start_x.elf https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/raw/master/fixup_x.dat and replace start.elf and fixup.dat on the boot partition of sdcard. Let me know if it fixes it. I've also tried to do sane things when switching between PCM and passthrough audio. Can you follow the update procedure in previous post, and report if the behaviour is better. Download:I've been using the last rbej frodo build on usb, and the booting has been very flaky. I don't think it's re-booted at all, booting from powered off has been mixed. Swapped those out and it's back to booting reliably. I guess that means it's the same problem, as booting 3.2 has never been an issue. The video's great btw. Download: Yep, fixed it. (also replaced the bootcode.bin) Edit, Just to be clear, I used image file of 3.2.2 to create and put those files in it and now it boots and seems ok. I didnt run a update on 3.2.1 install to 3.2.2. RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - FattyMcDirty - 2013-09-30 Why are there no newer Gotham builds lately? RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - misa - 2013-09-30 Maybe a stupid question....I am also testing this build and have the replace files.....but do I have to rename them to start.elf and fixup.dat? |
