Could you tell me what files I have to copy and where?

Copy start_x.elf and fixup_x.dat.
Put them on FAT partition of sdcard.
Rename them to match names of existing files there
(start.elf and fixup.dat for openelec).

Shoutdown and restart not working with last frodo backport. Only black screen.

(2013-10-22, 17:49)doveman2 Wrote: Apparently the reason why I can't install the skin xTV-SAF and am getting "Dependencies not met" is because the 10/02 Gotham rbej build I'm using is missing xbmc.json. There is a folder usr/share/xbmc/addons/xbmc.json with an addon.xml in it but no other files.

I've had a look back through several old builds and they're all the same, with only the addon.xml in the xbmc.json folder. Is this right as I'd have thought there should be some other files for an addon?

If that is right, has anyone got any other ideas as to why it's not possible to install/update xTV-SAF and I'm getting this error?

I've been getting repeated popups (not just when booting) about updates being available for xbmc.audiomixer and artworkdownloader and that random.items script is broken. Yet none of these are visibile in the Updates Available, Enabled or Disabled sections under addons.

I guess I'll just delete the folders from .xbmc\addons for these addons to stop these popups but there's obviously a bug causing this behaviour.

Updated firmware https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/tree/next
to
OpenELEC-RPi.arm-Rbej-Version-Frodo-Branch(31.10.2013)
and
OE version Gotham devel-20131025192011-r1693

For the both still drops every 3/5 seconds for 0.3/0.5 second.

@MrNice

I have a focus on RPI as an audio only jukebox so...

Down loaded at 11:55pm 31/10/2013 and updated firmware from https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/tree/next
Updated to OpenELEC-RPi.arm-Rbej-Version-Frodo-Branch(31.10.2013)

played "2L38SACD_tr1_mch_96kHz.flac" from http://www.2l.no/

Played great!! no drops etc...

Also tested a number of other test files from other sites eg Lin. All played fine.

BUT I have my "STORAGE" on an external USB connect Hard drive,
and anything that might use CPU turned off! (ie news feed, the sound to picture thing)
as I use the PI headless (ie I dont have my TV on just use it as I HQ audio Juke box)
Then use the XBMC remote app to select music to play :-))) (I have a Wifi USB adaptor too)
I have a model B with 512 MB connected to Yamhaa amp via HDMI.
I have options set for in config.txt "hdmi_force_open=1" to stop my amp re-syncing
between tracks.

Thanks Popcornmix for another step forward for my Audio Jukebox !!

Has anyone else been having problems upgrading to the latest testbuilds? For some reason after updating, the RPi refuses to boot. But when I used the latest dev build from http://openelec.thestateofme.com/, it boots with no problems. It started with the 10/26 Rjeb Frodo build.

Also had that problem yesterday, but thought it was a glitch in that shutdown.

More people with this problem?

I had this problem (not that I tested with the dev build) but it was resolved, even though I'm overclocking, when I replaced my microSD in an adapter with a Sandisk Ultra 16GB SD. Maybe there's something different with the testbuilds that pushes borderline SD cards over the edge when updating but it seems unlikely as I imagine whichever build you update with uses the same update mechanism. The only other thing I can think of is if the dev build somehow disables any overclock, on the first reboot at least, maybe that would stop it corrupting where it might otherwise.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - Trickname - 2013-11-01

another question:

is there a way to set intern or extern ffmpeg before compile ?

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - doveman2 - 2013-11-01

I just upgraded to the latest dev build from http://openelec.thestateofme.com/ and was able to update xTV-SAF skin without any errors about dependencies. It was still using the same /storage on my USB, so I think that shows that there's something strange in the rbej build that was causing this error.
