Bay Trail-D motherboards - Dougie Fresh - 2014-01-30 I'd like to start a thread to talk about the new Bay Trail-D mini-ITX motherboards that are supposed to be coming out any day now. We've all seen the press releases from last November so I don't want to include those here. What I'd like to see is real product pages from manufacturer websites and hopefully soon retailers. Once we start actually using them it'd be nice to know what everyone's experiences are, where they found them, good and the bad, etc. Updated 9-May ASRock ASRock Q1900-ITX, Q1900B-ITX, Q1900DC-ITX, etc. E.g. I'd like to see the IMB-151 since it has on-board power. Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H Built-in Intel® Celeron™ J1800 (2.41 GHz) Dual-Core processor GIGABYTE Ultra Durable™ Technology All Solid Capacitors with Humidity Protection New Glass Fabric PCB design LAN with high ESD Protection HDMI, D-SUB ports on rear panel USB 3.0 port with GIGABYTE 3x USB power GIGABYTE On/Off Charge™ for USB devices Mini PCI-E expansion slot supports wireless networking cards MSI MSI J1800I Intel® Celeron J1800 Processor Onboard DDR3-1333 Memory USB 3.0 + SATA 3Gb/s Military Class 4: Top Quality & Stability Military Class Essentials: Total Protection for Military Class Motherboards HDMI: High-Definition Multimedia Interface Fast Boot: Quickly Boot Up & Enter OS in A Few Seconds M-Flash: Simply Update & Backup Your BIOS Live Update 5: Easily Update The Latest BIOS & Drivers ECS ECS BAT-I Applied Solid Capacitor for CPU VRM to ensure a longer lifespan for system ECS Durathon Technology ensure the stability, reliability and performance of system. All the boards (except the MSI) are available at retailers all over the globe. Some gotchas to watch out for: - Some boards require low-voltage (1.35V) RAM so pay attention to the specs - Intel's driver control panel for these motherboards is missing adjustable scaling for removing overscan - Testing with the ASRock Q1900B-ITX in Windows 7 shows HD bitstreaming formats not supported by audio driver (might apply to other as well?) RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - jammyb - 2014-01-30 Subscribed!! RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - Dougie Fresh - 2014-01-30 Now we just need some retailers to start selling these babies. I have some worries though from what I've been reading in the BayTrail NUC thread around OpenELEC and Windows 7. RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - nooz - 2014-01-31 @ Dougie can you elaborate a bit, or link to the thread? I'm keen on the BayTrail NUC as a possible upgrade soon. Thanks RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - jammyb - 2014-01-31 (2014-01-31, 00:05)nooz Wrote: @ Dougie can you elaborate a bit, or link to the thread? RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - Dougie Fresh - 2014-02-06 A pre-order listing at an actual US retailer! http://www.directron.com/j1800nh.html Biostar J1800NH $55.99 + shipping RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - nooryani84 - 2014-02-07 http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66777p=580312 RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - jammyb - 2014-02-07 Any Asus ones yet? RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - falc410 - 2014-02-07 This should be the same platform as the Baytrail NUC am I right? There are so many Intel CPUs I have no idea what is what anymore. Since I already have a case and everything I just want to know if I will get the same performance as with the DN2820 NUC. RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - bneaves - 2014-02-15 I have the IMB151, been running it for a couple of weeks now with TBS6981 Only supports Win8, BIOS doesn't seem to like booting reliably with Win7 Limited drivers around and no new BIOS as yet Seems pretty stable Idles at around 7-8w without Sat Card, 1 SODIM and a mSATA card. No KB, Mouse or HDMI connected just Ethernet RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - BORIStheBLADE - 2014-02-16 I'm hoping there are a decent amount of options with the Celeron J1900. I want to use that for my server build. RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - two515ty - 2014-02-16 I've been thinking about using an embedded solution like this one to run a simple NAS with 4 or 5 drives connected, but I'm not sure if I should go for something more powerful. Do you guys think these BayTrail boards would be enough to run FreeNAS with a PCI-express SATA card? I would really only need it to run a few things like Samba, Transmission, and maybe Couchpotato. RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - Dougie Fresh - 2014-02-17 The Gigabyte board is now available for order at Amazon.com for US$69.99 with a lead time of 2-4 weeks. http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Dual-Core-Built-In-Motherboards-GA-J1800N-D2H/dp/B00IFE4VF8 RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - Dougie Fresh - 2014-02-21 The Gigabyte board is now available at Newegg.com for US$74.99 + shipping http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128688 I plan to hold off until the Windows 7 issues are resolved. RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - jammyb - 2014-02-21 Gonna be an issue for openELEC use? Any news of Asus boards yet? Me likes them ones. |
