Derp. The answer is that if you are using one stick of RAM, you must put it in the A1 slot. The machine will not POST with RAM in the B1 slot only.

Yep, ran into that too. It has to go into the slot that runs along the short side of the cooler.

Now i asked which of them Support it.

The second Reply:
- We recommend to check the whole System, not only the CPU, cause OEM Builders can add 3D Support to Baytrail CPUs
- The Baytrail CPUs aren't compatible with 3D by themselves, but Tray CPUs can be added 3D Feature by the OEM Builders.

The third Reply:
"Unfortunately, Intel has no 3D capable systems with Bay Trail processors.
The only 3D cacheable processors are some of the Core i3, i5 or i7 family."

So Baytrail could, when Asrock and Co would integrate it, like the one Tablet Manufacturer:

Tablets use an integrated Baytrail SoC that is not the same as the Atom processors used on desktop. While they can do 3D, they lack other features such as compressed bitstream audio (DD/AC3) over HDMI.

RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - fritsch - 2014-06-09

DD and AC3 are not a bitstream feature. Those are sent via 2 PCM channels, the hardware needs to do plain nothing.

Perhaps they would remove Dolby HD and DTS HD instead ... but that sounds most adventourous.

There is a flag on the HDMI configuration register than needs to be set to signal compressed audio vs. PCM. That register is reserved/disabled on the mobile tablet Baytrail. Probably because of limitation in the integrated Intel SST audio decoder. Check the datasheet. So you will never get AC/DTS from a tablet SoC and the format is not exposed in Windows audio device properties. The desktop Baytrail does not have this hardware issue - just lack of drivers for HD audio in Windows.

RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - fritsch - 2014-06-10

Are we talking about windows incapabilities or about real hardware switches?

Again: AC3 and DTS are encoded over 2 PCM channels, the content is signalled "in data" - that's it.

I think you talk about DTS-HD and TrueHD which need 8 channels at 192 khz.

They are too slow to make SSE2 Yadif DI and Lanczos3 under Linux - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=184930&pid=1714155#pid1714155

I thought it was same both on Windows and Linux :o Are you saying that it can do all of these under Windows?

RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - fritsch - 2014-06-11

Psst. Could you retry with: https://github.com/FernetMenta/xbmc/tree/vpp

(MADI is non working for now, intel driver bug - but good for testing). It's not perfect yet, but it has heavy improvements also concerning the rendering.

Any chance you could provide an ISO which could be installed onto USB drive for the testing.

RE: Bay Trail-D motherboards - -DDD- - 2014-06-12

When MADI isn't working now, would that result in BOB?
