That is a good build and yes, your CPU will playback full HD smoothly RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - bluray - 2014-02-10 (2014-02-10, 03:15)Mufufu Wrote: Can the HD4400 run full hd smooth?Yes.... RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - zxz0O0 - 2014-02-10 What are you planning to store on the harddisks? RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - sgibbers17 - 2014-02-10 My ivy bridge i3 with hd 4000 works great. If the raspberry pi plays full 1:1 blu ray rips any desktop cpu should work just fine. RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - Kib - 2014-02-10 I am not sure you will need that much power as the Core i3-T version only has a TDP of about 45W 35W. It looks very similar to a build I am making at the moment: I am just looking for the correct cooler to fit in that case and either a small internal PSU or a nice external one, as I will not be adding anything else into it. Storage is all networked for me (NAS in other room) Edit: Finished my build, switched to a fanless case and got a picoPSU as well. RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - Mufufu - 2014-02-10 sweet. Thanks alot RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - prawnee - 2014-02-10 (2014-02-10, 11:07)Kib Wrote: I am just looking for the corerect cooler to fit in that case and either a small internal PSU or a nice external one, as I will not be adding anything else into it. You should be able to drop a Noctua NH-L9i in that case if used with a 2.5" drive. RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - Mufufu - 2014-02-10 im making the HTPC the nas aswell. A server/fulldhd player. RE: New HTPC - is it enough? - Dougie Fresh - 2014-02-10 As cool as the i3-4130 runs in my testing, I am not sure at a $15-20 premium that the T version is necessary unless you need a low-profile cooler and plan to use the one that comes with it.
