Repeated messages to disable addons - hindibuff - 2014-02-10

I am on the latest gotham nightly on android. In the recent last 2 version, I can confirm the following behavior.

A couple of addons loaded are still not gotham comptabile and will show an error saying add-on incompatible, disable or use? . Clicking ignore gets rid of the dialogue only for the dialogue to reappear every 5 minutes. Clicking disable, disables the add-on but I still get the dialogue yet again. The addons are not from the default xbmc repo. Only way to avoid the dialogue is to disable the repo of the addon.

Earlier versions, the dialogue would appear once and I would never see it again.

Anyone else experiencing the same behavior? Any suggestions?

each addon triggering this will need to be done ignore or disabled, so 50 addons 50 times the trouble.

Sounds like a broken addons.db file in userdata (wiki)/Database/, which is where disabled, enabled, ignore, type info is stored. I would use the File manager (wiki) or something like ES File Explorer to go into the userdata (wiki) folder and just delete the addons.db file (the actual file name will have a number in there). XBMC will recreate the DB when it starts up again, and should then remember when you press "ignore" or not.

Thanks Ned. That is what I was looking for. Will try it out tonight.

Tried to delete the addon.db, rebooted. no go! Any other ideas?

Can you get us a debug log (wiki) of when this happens?

Ive noticed the same with recent gotham nightlies on ubuntu 13.10 x64, log file after deleteing addons.db:

RE: Repeated messages to disable addons - hindibuff - 2014-02-12

hmm... seems like a recent bug!

RE: Repeated messages to disable addons - tinnyskillz - 2014-02-13

did anyone find a solution to this?

RE: Repeated messages to disable addons - teeedubb - 2014-02-13

Seems like people are allergic to posting debug logs or something...(hint: a debug log is way more useful to the people who can help than a "Me too!" post)

Yep, I tried to reproduce but have not been able to reproduce this - until we see some debug logs we have no idea why it woulkd be happening.

RE: Repeated messages to disable addons - Martijn - 2014-02-15

Provide the database file including all installed addons as a complete zip file.

Could you zip your entire addons folder and upload it somewhere ?
