Struggling to get remote control keymap working - cable_guy - 2014-02-23
Hi all,
I am trying to get some extra buttons working on my Emprex IR remote on my XBMCbuntu box, but I can't work out why it's not working.
I don't know if this is part of my problem but I had to install inputlirc, but now even running "irw" gives me "Connect: Connection Refused".
I also tried "ir-keytable -c -p NEC,RC-5,RC-6,JVC,SONY -t" as per the Remote sticky, and I get:
"Old keytable cleared
/sys/class/rc/rc0//protocols: Invalid argument
Couldn't change the IR protocols
Testing events. Please, press CTRL-C to abort." but I have no idea what this means. Nothing I press on the remote does anything.
Any tips and advice gratefully received.

Hi all,
Just wanted to bump to see if anyone could help please?
I had another scour through the sticky in this forum and my main problem seems to be that IRW doesn't work with the "connection refused" message. I can't work this out as the remote works fine, albeit only the basic buttons.
Really close to a rebuild just for this reason
