Hi

I`m also maybe going to buy this one. (Intel NUC DN2820FYKH)
But I`m not sure yet, will this support 3D, with my setup? (signature)

For the purposes of XBMC/Kodi, anything that can play 1080p content can also play 3D video, assuming it's of the HSBS or OU variety.

Why? This NUC is already fast enough that it feels basically like using a much larger i5 or i7 HTPC, and there aren't likely to be any major hardware improvements with a 2015 model.

Honestly, in my opinion the way to go is to get this (or whatever cheapest NUC exists right now) and then hold out for 2016 or 2017 or even maybe 2018, when we might finally see hardware decoding for h.265 content. Until then, the differences in upgrade from year to year will be all but meaningless to OpenELEC users.

OK

I`m not that good at this, but with my current setup I do not have big issues watching 1080p, but 24Hz seems to be a little bit of problem.

Is that NUC better then what I have?

What are the issues you have with 24hz?

This NUC (and other newer NUCs with Haswell) support true 23.976 so you should be able to achieve perfect 23.976/24.000 playback if that is currently a problem for you.

I see Intel have eventually answered that Bay Trail does not support Protected Audio Path (PAP) hence there won't ever be DTS-HD on Windows.

It`s not showing it nicely, it`s lagging a lot.

But I want to buy a new setup. I just want it to support 3D (i think my tv uses steroscopic?), and 23.976/24.00 playback.
Other stuff I think the NUC will handle.

I like how it only took Intel 7-8 months to come clean and admit it couldn't do it. It shouldn't have taken any more than a week, and that's being generous.

If you want HD Audio, just choose linux!

I'm wondering if this missing functionality is a fair reason to return the unit? I'm really disappointed about this. Undecided

I can't make Netflix in surround work on this unit either. I'm using the app under Win8.1 but it is lagging horribly (i.e. slow motion!) when I enable 5.1. Stereo is fine. Has anyone made Netflix surround work?

In the UK it would be enough to get your money back if you wanted as it was an advertised feature in all the published product documentation.

It could be the Netflix app also requires Protected Audio Path (PAP) for any 5.1, where PAP is the copy protection for audio streams which is built into Windows.

That all depends on where you live and how long you've had the unit.

Has anyone managed to get the bluetooth working? I'm running OpenElec (4.07) and I'd like to connect my bluetooth gamepad and play some emulation goodness!

Does anyone know how to program a Logitech Harmony 1100i to control a DN2820FYKH NUC ?
