From what I understand the really isn't any difference between the Amlogic MX and M6. I am by far not an expert, but from what I have read the Amlogic dual core boxes are the way to go. I just flashed a different firmware this morning and installed the latest XBMC Gotham Beta 2. It played 1080p extremely well compared to a beta firmware I was running. However, if I were to buy a box today, I would probably go with an Odroid U3 (or better) with a 16GB eMMC. http://www.hardkernel.com/main/main.php Have a look here for hardware decoding on various Android boxes: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Android_hardware RE: ebay media boxes suggestions - Taza13 - 2014-03-29 thanks im a noob to all this. amlogic chipsets are good as they are able to process H.264 & other common codecs,MPEG-2, VC-1 / WMV 9 as well as the samsung 4412 chipset. is that right? with the one you would get its only the chip right id have to build a shell for it? does yours do 1080p with ease? cheers Taza RE: ebay media boxes suggestions - Taza13 - 2014-03-29 i need the android because i need to run hulu+ netflix smoothly on one of these units RE: ebay media boxes suggestions - Taza13 - 2014-03-29 what about this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quad-Core-8GB-Android-Minix-NEO-X7-Mini-PC-Wifi-Bluetooth-HD-Media-Player-TV-Box-/310829088508?pt=US_Internet_Media_Streamers&hash=item485edb7efc is it native 1080p? RE: ebay media boxes suggestions - Ned Scott - 2014-03-29 It's not bad, but I would go with the Odroid U3. You'll end up paying about the same, and it will have a lot more power. From that website you buy the board, case, power plug, wifi, memory card (for system/XBMC), the HDMI cable, and the final cost with shipping will be about $100. |
