RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - underworld123 - 2014-05-20

Anyone using a Sonos Playbar with the FTV? I have connected the playbar (at my parent's home) via the optical output, but was not able to get 5.1 surround. Can someone recommend the audio settings in XBMC?

Thanks!

Anyone else have audio./ video sync issues? I just have hdmi going from my TV into Fire TV and I feel like my MKV Movies and TV shows audio seems slightly off?

I installed the xbmc-20140412-1d32fd0-AmazonFire-armeabi-v7a.apk.

[SNIP]

*Source/File Size..........: BluRay 1080p VC-1 DTS-HD MA = 31.3 GB

Thanks

@badnaam VC-1 Codec is not hardware accelerated on the box.

Also, your build APK is very old, there is no need to use the specific AmazonFire builds anymore .. I have been using the mainline android Gotham builds.

Yup. I put my default for all videos to Ahead by 0.25 secs. Dont know why the audio is not synced, did not have that problem with my ATV2.

My boxes are hooked up to an onkyo through HDMI.

What's weird is when I watch videos from the web streaming they seem fine. I am using wifi but it's literally right next to it.

OK. XBMC shows it as "DTS" not DTS-HD.

I also tried some other files with the following encoding information in the .nfo file.

AUDIO FIRST .......: 1536 Kbps 6 chnls DTS English
Audio ....: DTS 1509kbps (XBMC says DTS 5.1)

And they both opened with the same hiss.

can you please provide a link to the right version to use? Where do I get the mainline gotham build?
Thanks!

Thanks.

I did install the arm version. I don't see any change. Most of the movies (blue ray rips, even the ones that show up as DTS 5.1 or Dolby Digital) in XBMC, play with a loud hiss. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if this isn't ready for most movies yet.

For example, the following.

IMDB................: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1602613/
Rating .............: 6.5/10 from 6,004 users
Screens.............: Opening Week - 2013
Genre ..............: Crime | Drama | Thriller

Date ...............: July 19 2013
Runtime ............: 1:29:33
Size ...............: 2.79 GB
Video ..............: 1280x688
Bitrate ............: 3996 kbps (H264 [email protected])
Audio 1.............: English DD5.1 Ch 384 kbps
Chapters............: Yes
Source .............: iTunes (US)
Subs ...............: English

I have tried several others, most blu ray rips don't play without that hiss.

It did play one that was DTS 2.0, but that's about it.

Please post proper screenshots of your audio setup, the ones above are not working.

Also a debug log, remembering that logs go to pastebin not inline in the forum.

Here is the debug log

I couldn't upload the logs because I can't enter my email address in the log uploader add on (the onscreen keyboard does not work with the fire remote). I also couldn't paste the log file to paste bin because it is 3.4 mb size and pastebin wants me to become a pro user.

So here is the zipped log file in my google drive. hope it works.

I've noticed this 250ms delay on both my FTV and Ouya, so I think it's an Android thing. I've gotten so used to it that I don't pay attention to which videos or streams are affected. But I think you might be right that only local has the delay. I don't remember having to change the audio delay for YouTube videos or other streams.

Newbie question regarding: Current Gotham Build - Nightlies
What is the difference between a Master and a non Master file load, i.e.

[ ] xbmc-20140520-c69432b-master-armeabi-v7a.apk 20-May-2014 08:07 56M Details
[ ] xbmc-20140518-a6a2713-Gotham-armeabi-v7a.apk 19-May-2014 10:50 56M Details

Which one should I load?

Thanks

No sync issues with local media here using Gotham 13, pass through to denon avr is working fine. Even tested hdmi to TV and optical pass through from TV to receiver, shows no lag here. I think most sync issues come from audio equipment.
