XBMC image bigger than tv screen - Chin_Un_Len - 2014-04-10

Hi everyone,

I have recently purchased G-Box Midnight MX2, I hooked it up to a 59 in Samsung smart TV.
the image being displayed from the G-box is bigger than the screen of the TV, so menus which are on the borders, will display only half way.

the box is connected with HDMI cable.
are there any settings on the G-box I can play with?
video resolution etc?
where are these settings if any?

your help is appreciated.

Video settings > Video calibration

You can also hit the settings while watching a movie, and there is a calibration option at the bottom.

Well, technically the problem is with your TV set which is resizing the video XBMC is sending. It's a stupid heritage of the times of analog signal. Check the menu of your television for an 'overscan' setting. Depending on your model (I don't have a Samsung set), the setting may not even be available.
Otherwise, just use the solution the others proposed. It is a bit stupid (=> xbmc will scale down the image so that your tv set can scale it up afterwards) but you probably don't have the choice.

Look for just scan on image size in TV.
