sorry i know very little about xbmc and am new t all this, but can i hook an xbmc media player up to my laptop or computer monitor?
or does it just work with tvs?
i have a laptop with built in hdmi and also a hdmi adapter to plug into a computer.....or also a stand alone pc monitor with the same?

You can plug the PC running xbmc into a monitor or TV.

Yes you can. It is just a programme you run on a computer. A laptop is a computer.
