RE: Zotac CI320-520-540 Fanless - vexingv - 2014-07-15 i'm looking to downsize my mATX HTPC to one of these Celeron models. the form factor, lack of noise, and cost are all very appealing to me (and when compared to the intel NUC offerings) how would the Celeron model perform in BluRay disc playback (via external USB bluray drive and software player like PowerDVD)? Also, any idea how the Celeron model might perform as a Steam in-home streaming client? Concerning the full review of the CI540, I'm still trying to put my hands on one unit but my usual retailer doesn't even know when they'll receive them and it's soon holidays time for me so this will have to wait. I haven't had time to do a lot of testing but so far I'm very happy with it. I'm running Win 8.1 with Gotham 13.1. Looking at the serial number, i see that it matches one of those above. i can't seem to find it anywhere online, but where exactly did you hear about this recall and those serial/model numbers? i'm wondering if i should even bother setting it up, or is there something i can do/modify on my own that would save me from having to go through a warranty service. "no drive for temporary files" etc etc). literally at my wits end. i'm able to install in using a tradition HDD. there is no problem with the SSD as i actually just tried to install win 8 on it using another setup. i suspect something with motherboard settings, but i already have disabled UEFI, enabled ACHI, etc. help? any other settings i should change for those who have already installed it? RE: Zotac CI320-520-540 Fanless - fnsana - 2014-07-18 Has anyone put a HDD inside the CI320 nano and checked what are the HDD temperatures when idle, watching a 1080p and at 100% load? I wouldn't be that sure... It's a 1 GHz CPU, a quad, sure, but if it would be h.265 (the 4K codec of choice) or h.264 with higher resolutions than 1080p, it would be decoded by the CPU, not by the GPU afaik. H.265 being even more resource intensive than h.264, I'm not sure if such a CPU could handle that.(2014-06-12, 09:10) Playback for the CI320 version seems very good. 4K content can be played back fine if HW accelerated. Link to translated review RE: Zotac CI320-520-540 Fanless - dannysmith43 - 2014-08-08 I really fancy the CI320 model. Looking at the Zotac site, there's no mention of an IR port? Does it definitely have one? That's the deal breaker....oh and I assume it runs OpenElec without any issues? |
