Yosemite - activate - 2014-06-04

Normally, I don't bother about unreleased software but this is a positive so Nod Gave Gotham a go on 10.10 DP1 on a recent iMac with you tube and local library. All good!

RE: Yosemite - Ned Scott - 2014-06-04

Nice! Maybe we'll finally have a smooth update with OS X (fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc)

RE: Yosemite - cbmuir - 2014-06-06

My TV machine is a Mac Mini, that has been running 10.8.5. I installed 10.10 on an external disk just to play around with it, and installed XBMC 13.1 and to my surprise, it worked! I haven't stressed it beyond watching a few shows, and letting it do it's database scans, but no problems so far.

RE: Yosemite - arubinst - 2014-06-06

It actually seems to work better on my 2010 Mac Mini on Yosemite than on Mavericks. I have been having image tearing problems and they're gone on Yosemite. Video is actually silky smooth...

RE: Yosemite - AlessandroSS - 2014-06-15

I installed Yosemite today, and XBMC 13.1 is working fine on it.

There's only one problem I noticed that is on Apple's side: my TV is connected to my iMac and is its second screen, through display port and an adapter to HDMI. The top OSX menu is always appearing on top of XBMC, too bad to watch movies like this... In Mavericks it took a while for them to fix the second monitor issues, now after upgrading to Yosemite this OSX menu started to be on top of XBMC.

Safari has a new design in Yosemite but is too slow, hope it gets better in future releases.

RE: Yosemite - klaetsch - 2014-07-27

Confirmed. Using Yosemite Beta 1 and Gotham 13.1, the well known "mouse-bug" from the introduction of Mavericks is back again. Meaning, in full-screen mode, you cannot move the mouse pointer completely up. It gets stuck approx. at 10% from the top of the screen, so using skins which have the controls in the upper part of the screen cannot be used.

Only work around so far (as it was in Mavericks) is to bring XBMC to window mode (CMD + F) operate the controls and bring it back to fullscreen mode (CMD + F).

Maybe with Yosemite final this behaviour is automatically fixed, but honestly I doubt it. So maybe someone can have a look at it to have a smooth transformation when Yosemite final is available this autumn?

Apart from topic above all (which I tested so far) works smooth with Gotham 13.1 and Yosemite.

Yosemite - Memphiz - 2014-07-27

how do current 14.0 nightlies behave?

Hardware: 2013 late 15" Retina MBP (2880x1800)

Resolution setting :
1440 x 900 - normal
2880 x 1800 -abnormal , the top half content disappears , I will update the photo when I go home.

It's normal when using OSX Mavericks.

RE: Yosemite - Memphiz - 2014-07-29

I ment the mouse cursor problem described by klaetsch tbh ...

RE: Yosemite - usaretama - 2014-07-29

1440x900

As long as setting resolution to 2880x1800

Even If you decide to cancel the resolution changing,
("Would you like to keep this change?" Choose: No)

it still behaves like this :

or the same situation with 2880x1800 case..

RE: Yosemite - Memphiz - 2014-07-30

Not much hopes for a quick fix - my biggest resolution i can realise with my test hardware is fullhd ...

RE: Yosemite - Vatoe - 2014-07-31

Anyone seeing a huge CPU decrease running Yosemite beta and the latest Helix nightly? On my iMac (late 2009 model) it sits below 10% most of the time. Using Mavericks and the latest nightly or (13.1) on my mac mini sees CPU usage around the 30% mark? I haven't loaded Yosemite on the mac mini (to see if the same result would be obtained) as it is my main media player and I don't want to run into any unforeseen issues.

Are you utilizing XBMC with your Mac screen or an external display? I have a 13" 2013 Macbook Retina connected via HDMI to a 65" 1080p Panasonic GT50 and have no issues with a proper resolution of 1920x1080 via Yosemite/Gotham.

I guess I'm not understanding why you would need a higher resolution than that, unless you are using a small retina notebook screen to view content. An external monitor/display with XBMC (or any HTPC software) is a given, usually.

RE: Yosemite - Memphiz - 2014-08-04

Well it seems i would "need" this resolution only to fix the bugs in kodi with it Big Grin

RE: Yosemite - beemarp - 2014-08-04

Can anyone confirm if Yosemite is capable of outputting HD audio?

I'm hopeful after reading that iTunes 12 is rumored to have support for HD audio tracks.
