Running gotham 13.2.
Macbook pro 2010.

Since this problem appears to be related to your specific system you need to include a link to the crash report and the debug log (wiki) if you would like help solving it.

As an aside and completely off topic, Yosemite sure is ugly.Nod IMHO

Gotham crashes on Yosemite - levente - 2014-10-20

Hi, I use XBMC for ages on MAC OS X, and I had OS X 10.8.5 for the last years, all worked great (I use only the "even" versions of OS X, those are typically more stable and reliable).

I've installed Yosemite (OS X 10.10) yesterday, from the apple app store (official public release). First all looked fine, but then XBMC crashed. The reason might me an .mpg file (first season of Mad Men) that caused this after playing the movie for cca. 15 minutes.

I had to force-quit XBMC it to be able to re-open it. XBMC crashes ever since (I've re-installed it, though I did not clean any preference files, etc). I was not able to find any info about it, this is why I registered to this forum. Attached is the OS X crash report i receive after 10 seconds of opening XBMC - it crashes on the home screen, instantly.

[/code]OSX 10.10 crash report

Please let me know if you have any suggestion to use XBMC again (perhaps I should return to 10.8. ...). Many thanks, lev

RE: Yosemite - Memphiz - 2014-10-20

This crash is fixed in latest alpha version for Kodi 14.0 "Helix". There won't be any bugfix releases for Gotham 13.x branch so you either need to downgrade to 10.8 and wait for Kodi 14.0 final or you try the latest alpha version...

You could also try this special fixed version of 13.2 i did right now:

it works, thank you so much!

RE: Yosemite - HiChBe - 2014-10-21

I've found an odd problem with aliases created under Yosemite. 13.2 only sees the alias, not the file associated with them so the items don't play, but aliases created under my previous system (10.9.4) do resolve to the correct file and play.

Hey all.

Have a mac mini late 12. running 10.8.5.

is it save to go 10.10 or better to stay on ML?

The safest thing to do IMO would be to install Yosemite in a seperate external drive and take a look at it for yourself. If you don't like it or you have problems all you have to do is reset your startup disk to go back to what you have now. As a minimum you should at least make sure you have a current Time Machine backup that you can restore from if necessary. A few people have had problems with Yosemite and Kodi 13.2 Gotham.

Million thanks Mempiz!
I just installed your "special version" of 13.2 and it looks like it solved the crash issues on MAC OS X 10.10.
I am using mac mini late 2012.

It is working great for me except for Mashup and I use it as a media center for my home theater system. The fix for MashUp I think is to install the i386 daily build which I plan to do tomorrow Wink

RE: Yosemite - Gigantur - 2014-10-24

Yosemite and xbmc nightlies - has been flawless for me.

Apple look to have broken apple remote but candelair latest update works. EDIT: no need for candelair. I needed to disable remote and re-enable it as well as add a startup delay before launching xbmc on boot

RE: Yosemite - lesarros - 2014-10-25
