Even though that link leads to testing.skin.Xperience1080.3.4.0.zip being checked which obviously isnt 1080XF it did install correctly, after that i tried 1080XF again and it worked.

Ah, yes it was just a test - both threads have now been updated. That update will have forced scripts and services to update. However, you really should grab the latest version (you don't need to install that from the zip as you've already forced Kodi to grab the latest dependencies.

If so, yes, i installed that

Also, i tried setting a global background but that doesnt seem to work.
Even the extra backgrounds that are included are shown in the preview but when applied the background remains the same.
edit: seems overlay.png is a bit too strong, adjusted it and it seems fine now

Yes, sorry the changes are made to 1080XF first then moved over to Xperience1080 - I get confused sometimes.

I'll look into the background issue you've reported, I can't reproduce it on a fresh install of the latest Kodi nightly and installation of the skin from the zip.

I see what you mean. I can create a custom texture for you, but there are no plans to include that with the main release.
