.filename = duplicate entry - stooovie - 2014-07-28
Hi!
XBMC 14 Alpha 1 recently started to make duplicate library entries for files that have the hidden .filename SMB file in the directory.
For example, Movie.avi and .Movie.avi (this file is hidden) will show up as duplicates.
That didn't happen before. Is there a way to prevent this?

In SMB files with a dot in front of the name are not hidden. Are you confused with some Linux filesystems?

Or are you talking about samba, the Linux implementation of SMB that has a setting where Linux hidden files are presented to windows machines as being hidden?

Many entries in my MyVideos db have duplicates as indicated in the screenshot. All of them have a dot before the name, indicating some kind of metafile. The source drive is a WD MyCloud NAS connected via SMB.

Actually it's not . prefixing the file but ._
File size is exactly the same between the files so I'd presume this is something to do with your host.
