ah, ok. I was confused - when I read "Download the modules on boot" I understood that aceengine module will load during Linux boot. May be it is better to rename "Download from Internet the modules on boot" to avoid possible future misunderstanding from other users ?

Related to the AceStream Engine settings modification in the addon GUI (under Windows), it seems that the two settings "Clean engine cache" and "Cachefolder location" are not editable while for all the others, pressing for example "Enter", is possible to set a new value. The "Cachefolder location" is in fact set to "C:_acestream_cache_" but I would set it in D.
More in general, the various settings in the AceStream Engine are the following (with the values that I usually use):
- Play entertaining videos while prebuffering: uncheck
- Start with sufficient speed only: uncheck
- Automatically determine download limit: uncheck
- VOD buffer, s : 10
- Live buffer, s : 30
- Download limit (Kb/s) (0 = no limit) : 0
- Upload limit (Kb/s) (0 = no limit) : 0
- Disk cache limit, Gb : 3
- Cache drive : c: (or choose a cache drive)
- Login to the Ace Stream system : blank
- Password : blank
Advanced
- Port : 8621
- Total max connects : 600
- Auto slots and connections management: uncheck
- Max connects per stream : 300
- Max slots: 100
where the ones that I highlitghted in bold should be the ones that are possible to be changed in the addon GUI. What aboout the others? And, in addition to that:
- "Max connects per stream" has sense only when "Auto slots and connections management" is unchecked, but this last one does not appears in the settings list under the addon GUI
- In the addon GUI, "Clean engine cache" reports [0MB]...which is the sense of this [0MB]? Should not be this one the "Disk cache limit" instead?
One last thing: I just tried to set some values to the different AceStream Engine settings, but when I play an AceStream channel, going on the setting by right clicking on the AceStream status bar icon, the values are not the ones that I changed in the GUI but the same that I put previously directly through the status bar icon...
Can you please check this issues? Thanks in advance as usual!

Do you mean XS?
on the XIOS XS with the new Linux build the p2p add-on didn't work, it works fine on the android version.

Ni i'm asking about the older one, XIOS DS, which is currently running the linux build made by a guy called 'the hydra'.
Would be awesome to get p2p streams working on my xios ds box in my son's room.

1) Start with MxLinux
Test acestream and sopcast:
If acestream works but sopcast doesn't put settings back to default and choose the jynxbox pure linux versin
if sopcast works but ace doesnt: Test with the xbian build

I asked this question over at github and got a reply that seems to answer why it is not working but no explanation how to fix it, can someone explain what I need to do please...??!?
I have XBMC 13.2 on my windows PC and ace stream is fine with p2p stream, but on my linux PC XBMC 13.1 I cant get it to work.
When I click on "acestream - p2p streams addon" it says starting the acestream engine initial wait and starts the countdown from 30s. It counts down to 0 then says it cant connect, it never moves onto the pre buffering stage like it does on my windows pc
I have tried many flavours & versions of linux but no success
All necessary ports are open in the router
Sopcast works ok through p2p streams on both machines
Windows 7 PC
i5-3570K
8GB RAM
samsung evo 120GB SSD
Linux Xubuntu 13

So my question is
How do I alter that? (please bare in mind I am not very experienced with linux!!)
How can that be wrong? All I've done is follow the guide on how to install p2p-stream, I've not manually changed or altered anything
