Audio and video stuttering - cosmo321 - 2014-08-12 I am experiencing frequent problems when playing back certain .ts-files. Every few seconds the audio stops, and the video is lagging a lot. This problem only appears in XBMC, and play fine in MPC-HC. It has been present for the last few versions of XBMC (I think the problem first appeared with 12). I also tried the 14 Alpha, and the problem is still present there. It is a bit annoying the have to use an alternative player every time I want to watch these files, and I am sad to see it is still present in 14. Is this a known problem? Here's the media-info from MPC-HC: Code: General I can provide the file with the problem if necessary. RE: Audio and video stuttering - DaVu - 2014-08-12 Did you ever read this? http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=External_players So you arenĀ“t in need to switch the player manually...xbmc will do this for you Providing the file (via dropbox or anything) would be fine, for others to test. But what is neccessary, I think, is a Debug Log while playing that file to see, if something goes wrong on your system. Greetings David RE: Audio and video stuttering - cosmo321 - 2014-08-13 Yes, I can provide the logfile. The log seems to contain a lot of irrelevant information regarding thumb extraction from other files in the folder, but I left it there for a complete log. To find the relevant file playback search for Bicycle Race. The log is from Kodi 14, but problem is present in all version since at least XBMC 12. I've tested on several different computers as well, so I doubt it is related to hardware. I've tested it on computers with nVidia, Amd and Intel in the past. http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=267655 I'd prefer to not have to use an external player, but it is what I'm doing currently. But as it seems to be somewhat random (from a user perspective) what files have this issue, I have to try to play it, then stop it and change player if the problem occurs. I really like the OSD in XBMC, and I'd like to have it for all my files. Here's a link to the file if anyone want's to try for themselves. https://mega.co.nz/#!wI5iTSoK!3bNJDPX6QwC4YarF3q2l1VfdCTpefuP7lmp-T97jM0o As far as I know only XBMC is having problem playing back the file. I have several other music videos with this problem as well. RE: Audio and video stuttering - cosmo321 - 2014-08-19 Is there no one who can tell me what the problem is? RE: Audio and video stuttering - FernetMenta - 2014-08-19 The problem is that timestamps are jumping back. We are working on this. This patch makes your sample play: https://github.com/popcornmix/xbmc/commit/87fdd83b67b239b6aa7471f9109457ec7feb5510 RE: Audio and video stuttering - DaVu - 2014-08-19 Maybe a dev could take a look into this logifle....I never saw that many "ffmpeg" errors in a logfile. Do you record these files for yourself from tv? Do you run into problems while playing back DVD or BD? I will download this file and test it, as soon as I can. RE: Audio and video stuttering - cosmo321 - 2014-08-19 Allright, nice to know it's being looked into. Makes me very happy. I don't record them myself. And I have no problems with DVDs or BDs, as far as I know at least. RE: Audio and video stuttering - DaVu - 2014-08-19 And were did you get them from? Did you rip them in .ts files? Maybe the files are broken. RE: Audio and video stuttering - Kib - 2014-08-21 The files are 'broken' in a sense that the timestamps are jumping back. We have seen this in some DVDs so there is work being done to fix it as it is not restricted to a wrong rip and not easily fixed by a typical user RE: Audio and video stuttering - cosmo321 - 2014-08-25 Yeah, I looked through my files to see if I could find any patterns and it looks like all the files I have with this problem are from the same TV channel. I don't know if it's the stream they use or if whoever ripping it is doing something "wrong". I just get them from torrents, I don't really know much more about the files. |
